Honestly? I think it's not worth the time and money, complications and effort AT ALL and a 176cm guy has no requirement in hell for this surgery. But if you're hell bent, 6cms internal femurs usually means a great recovery.

The toll of other people somehow finding out you had cosmetic leg lengthening is probably higher when you're at a taller starting height. For really short guys a lot of people could probably understand why they'd put themselves through it, but for the ones with a taller starting height most would probably view them in the same vein as anorexic women who think they're fat or guys who never think they're big enough and start injecting synthol.

But if it's really that important to you then there's no reason you can't go for it. Just try and play it safe as much as possible with your doctor and financial padding in case any complications arise. It would probably be a good idea to see a therapist to see if maybe there's a deeper or unrelated reason for why you're unhappy with your body. Height might seem like that's the one thing you need to change in life but you might have just fooled yourself into thinking that that's what's wrong because it's the easiest feature to compare to others.

Imho if you are more than 5'8 surgery is not worth it, this surgery requires tons of sacrifices which at certain height are just too much.
If you want to go just for pure need of being taller sure go for it but if there is something bothering you i second that you should visit a shrink.

And i hate so say that but tons of people here would kill to be your height including me.

There are people here that after they did the first surgery, the want the second round. However, I think I will see a doctor like you said for see if I have BDD, which I think the most of the people have sometimes.

I would kill for grow 2 cm more and be 178, with that enough I think; but there are people with 178 that wants this surgery in order to be 184, so we wont be happy with nothing, however for mental health there is a limit.

If you're that concerned over less than an inch in height, it really does look like something else beyond height that is bothering you. Perhaps it is BDD, perhaps not. Speaking from experience as I have severe BDD, getting therapy has been one of the most beneficial things I have ever done for myself.

I've said this a couple of other times in this forum, but if you suspect you have BDD...please get help. BDD is a very serious thing.

Even this forum is proof of that. I admit I judge those over 5'9 that want this surgery pretty harshly. 5'8, 5'7, & 5'6 I think is more cosmetic, and below that...go for it.

Exactly, a person of that height is bothering me, but I just can do the surgery, really I dont do it to compete with that person if not to improve myself. Be the best version you can.

Don't forget that most of the second surgerys are done to "repair" their proportions, the gained height is a bonus.

I think also most of the quad patients weren't average height still after the first LL surgery.
