Quote from: Arche on January 14, 2014, 05:02:52 AMI don't know if this addition was serious or not...
100% serious. What makes you think it isn't?
Quote from: Arche on January 14, 2014, 05:18:41 AMI mean with all of the controversy surrounding cheap(er) doctors in India and with the addition of his price being so low. I didn't mean to be rude, my apologies.
Ah, I thought it was because of his first initials judging from a few of the the above comments - somehow I always find docs with funny names, like Dr. Porn-A-Nake Tardthong from Thailand.
True there has been controversy with some of the cheaper doctors. None of the docs we put up here are endorsements of the doctors though - we still listed Dr. Sarin and Dr. Sringari despite the controversy. It's really just so people can have some starting info more than anything. I think everyone should have a one on one consultation with any doc and base their decision to do the surgery on that, even with the more expensive options.
Quote from: FrankGarrett on January 14, 2014, 02:33:31 AMHow many leg lengthening patients has he operated on so far?
According to the hospital, his team has used the Ilizarov procedure about 130 times within the last six years. I presume most of them were deformity corrections though.
With the extra costs you'd still end up paying a pretty low amount. What does seem appealing about Dr. Murthy is that the hospital will assist you in finding a hotel or guesthouse to stay in according to your budget. If he has good bedside manner, will answer all your questions and is upfront with the risks involved and what to expect, honest, etc., then he shouldn't be any worse to go to than other docs currently popular in India. Just from his orthopedic experience he seems more qualified to be doing this procedure than Dr. Sringari.
Quote from: tikal on January 23, 2014, 02:31:51 PMwho can have search than this dr is good for LL surgery or not?
R any Indian can do it for me
r u can see his Patient or Hospital staff for To confirm he
Nobody can tell you who to do your surgery with. It's never a good idea to commit to a surgeon based on a recommendation alone. E-mail the hospital and/or call them and see if you can talk with Dr. Murthy directly. The best thing would be to have a personal consultation with him if you are able to do so.
It's not a good idea to have people call for you. What languages do you speak? The hospital may have staff members there that can speak your language. You can use the Contact Us form on the hospital website to inquire about Dr Murthy.

Or you can use this e-mail to contact a hospital representative directly. This is the one that I have been receiving the information about Dr Murthy from:

Good post.
Max Super Specialty Hospital has a pretty good reputation among doctors in Delhi. Many have left other hospitals to work there. I haven't been there yet (stupid visa is taking way too long to process) but I suspect that if doctors have moved to MSSH due to higher pay and work environment you'd get better attention from them since they're more satisfied with their work environment.
Cool. So you're considering external only?
Quote from: crimsontide on January 29, 2014, 09:58:53 PMyes.... im curious about lon too, but the nail in my knee bothers me more than a few months extra in frames... no reply yet from that email, hope soon.... you said this hospital has good reputation though?
Max healthcare gets better online reviews than many other hospitals in New Delhi. Additionally there was an article I found that said many doctors had transferred to them from other hospitals due to receiving higher pay and a better work environment.
Quote from: FrankGarrett on January 29, 2014, 10:16:12 PMAre you going to this doctor or another one?
Planning on going to another doctor but that could change. I haven't dismissed this one entirely. At the very least I'll have a consultation with Dr. Murthy. But that's if I decide on external only. As of now it looks like I won't have that option and would need to do LON/LATN.
