this is a topic that gets little attention... there are certain men out there who are endomorphs (stockier,  big boned, shorter, and usually fatter), and ectomorphs (long limbs, lanky, usually taller, usually skinny).

i would argue that being a short endomorph is not that bad because you were designed to be a short, stocky, strong mo fo. being a short ectomorph on the otherhand really stinks, because ectomorphs are usually taller by design.

anybody ever feel comfort in their ectomorph advantage (stength, stocky build, and dense weight)?

well if you look at pictures of people starving to death in ww2 or most major conflicts, you can be certain that body frames all look the same.

you seem like you don't know what your talking about.

there are 3 types. not 2.

1 is fatter by nature (endomorph), 1 is muscular by nature(mesomorph), 1 is skinny by nature(ectomorph).

you can be a combination of any 3 also.

endomorph is sucky it is the most gay, it means your prone to being a fatass muscle does not come easy, fat comes easy.

mesomorph is a body of the gods, muscle comes very easy, even if you don't go to the gym, its like you were born to be muscular, fat stays off very easy.

ectomorph, aka skinny man syndrome, you are never going to be fat, but you are going to have to work your skinny ass off in the gym for 10 years just to look half decent with some muscles.

I guess I'm a combination of an ectomorph and a mesomorph. Always been skinny wih a high metabolism, can't get fat no matter what.

But I also gain muscle quite easily even though I barely work out and I don't have long limbs.

I do know what I'm talking about. Just because I didn't mention mesomorphs doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. Mesomorphs are the holy grail of body types (muscular build with moderate fat, and easy ability to add muscle mass).

I think most woman would go for a 5' 8" mesomorph over a 6' 2" ectomorph (unless the ecto tries EXTREMELY hard to work out).

The point being that looks, body type, and height are multi-dimensional. Height should not be the only consideration, because body type (meso, endo, ecto) and height have some relation, and body type is also extremely important to aesthetics and physical performance. I'd rather by an average height mesomorph than a tall ectomorph who has trouble packing on muscle. I'm a meso-ecto (somewhere between the two)

I think that endomorph might have been a poor example because it has the association with being "fat", but like I mentioned, there are some benefits to that body type (more of a meso-endo hybrid), such as strength, being stocky, and having big bones.

Sorry dude, didn't mean to upset you. I am an ectomorph as well (meso-ecto but mostly ecto). It's harder for us ecto's to pack on muscle but it's not impossible. There are benefits to being an ecto as well, because if we can pack on a little muscle, we will look lean and ripped, and put on little excess fat.

And like I always say, after I saw a guy at a concert who was shorter the 5' and in a wheelchair, have a super hot girlfriend by his side, I knew that there ANYONE can overcome their limitations.

Depends on your goals. If you're dedicated, an endomorph somatype probably has the highest strength potential. If you watch any of those world's strongest man or powerlifting competitions, the most massive/strongest of them are endomorphs. They aren't ripped. Mesomorph would be the best for that beach body type to attract women or to excel in bodybuilding, imo. Ectomorphs probably have the ideal body type for modeling.

Nah, women love ectos. Look at Brad Pitt in fight club--total ecto.

Yeah, I saw that fight. Hunt beated that 6'11 guy and that was thanks to his 6'2 wignspan.

And also, about Brad Pitt at 180cm, would he be considered short in Netherlands?
