So, hopefully I wil undergo tibia lengthening with dr. Pili, the first half of next year. I wanted to do the femurs first, but it's not realistically possible, it's too pricey and I can't afford to wait too long. I want to do at least one for now, and then go to med school, basically start my life.
I'm a 23 years old girl, around 4'11 and I want at least be around 5'2.
Hopefully I will do femurs in a few years (the greek doctor seems convenient, also Pili offer precice at 42000euro if you do two surgeries)
Other than the fact that my ideal height is 5'5, I think that longer tibias than femurs are very likely to cause joints problems in the long term. It's not very natural for tibias to be longer. Two surgeries allow to keep a natural ratio.
There has been a lot of controversy about Pili and ATL surgery.
I don't want to do ATL, I will wear a footholder do physio and walk. My worry is whether walking could make me lose height.
I'm too damn short, my neurosis is super giant (pun intended) and too me,it is priority to at least be around 5'2. I won't compromise, after waiting so much.
So, does walking compress significantly? Should I walk after I start to consolidate and just do physio and wear the footholder 24 hours at day, during lengthening? Or is it walking necessary to avoid too much ballerinas? Can you lose the equinuses, if you start walking when consolidating? In order to gain 7cm, should I have to lengthen 0,5 more?
Sorry for the many answer, but clear ideas are fundamental in this matter and I trust this forum, more than any doctor.
