Hey guys,
We have the 18.09.2017
and I will stay two more nights in the hospital, before I Go to Elke.
I can go now the stairs up and down smooth like a cat. But I have to train my ass muscles. If I walk without crunches, it looks like a retarded penguin. Haha

Since the Dr. and the physiotherapists told me not to do too much exercise, I will focus more on stretching.
I also got yesterday a friendly neighbor, who did his operation today at 9:40.
He feels all right and sleeps now. He did also femur.

Till now this Op was absolutely worth it. I am curious how the situation will be after one month. We had to adjust the crunches, cuz I growth already a bit. Hehe
Some friends of mine I will see during Silvester time again. Cant wait if they see me 8 cm taller. And usually I don’t wear elevator shoes in front of them. If I have some shoes which push me another 4 cm. Then it will be really funny haha.

And of course I am curious to see all the other patients at Elkes house.

Hello Fellow Forum Members.

Sry that I cannot respond so quickly to all the private messages.

We have the 29.09.2017 I am now 2cm taller.
Yesterday my father picked me up from Elkes house and we drove home.
I feel good. Pain level is still low. But my left knee hurts if I encumber it while walking. Which limits my walking routine.

But all in all it was a great experience. Elke is a very kind Lady with a warm hearth. She treated me and the other 3 patients like her own sons.
She and her daughter drove us two the physiotherapists, cleaned our rooms, buy our food etc…
Her cooking skills are astonishing. She prepared 4 meals a day, The house is always very clean and every think is timed. She helps where she can.

I came along very well with the other patients. They gave me tips on any occasion. One patient gifted me a cream called Retterspitz, to calm down my legs at night.
The other one showed me how to massage the legs if there is any pressure and he showed me that a hot water bottle helps. We were walking together, watching movies, talking about our future.
They showed me how to bend my legs with a pillow to the side when I want to change the sleeping position etc…

And the highlight is a physiotherapist called Peter.
Which I will go in detail on my next post.

Hey guys,

we have the 30.09.17
Last night I had some back pain.
In the evening I walked 2 km on crunches and a bad posture to prevent my left knee on too much pressure. I assume this was the reason.
But my awesome mother gave me a back massage and some medicine cream and the pain went away immediately.

Now I wanted to talk about my physiotherapy experience with peter:

I RECOMMEND EVERYBODY WHO DID INTERNAL LIMB LENGHENING TO WORK WITH PETER!!!

Let us first talk about the statistics.
I guess there are many good doctors out there like Dr. Betz. But nobody had operated on more patients then him. Peter worked with Dr Betz for over 12 years.
Therefore, he has a lot of experience which you need with physio training.

A beginning Physiotherapist has only his education in his hand and starts basically with zero.
With each patient, he gets more experienced. If more patients he has with the same symptoms, it is easier for him to help and judge the next patient.

I had some past physiotherapist experience. My last one was on February this year after I broke my scaphoid. My parents made sure that I became the best specialist. This person was the head physio for a Belgium soccer team. Also during the hospital stay you get 20 minutes physio a day and a lot of different opinions on how to walk etc…

Peter has his own philosophy which he can explain good. If you talk with him you immediately know that this guy knows what he is talking about.
The important thing is not the training itself. Every good physio knows several techniques to stretch the legs.
It is his judgment in which status the patient is and in which direction the patient will go.

Peter explained the limb lengthening process as a journey with each cm some think different can happen. For some patients you can tell after 2 cm if he will get a duck ass or spread legs etc…
He told me that there are good days and bad days. This is perfectly normal. With each added mm your body will find new ways to resist and fight it. And we have to stretch so our body can take the added height from somewhere. And we have to show our body how to walk properly. each body has his own way to find a way to reduce the resistance while walking.
I for example move my hips like a penguin if I walk without crunches. So, he told me to stand in front of a mirror and try to bend the legs without moving the hips.
Also to push the pelvis in front and walk straight etc..

But he also told me to overdue the knee bending while walking since I might get problems later with bending the knee because of my walking style right now.
But this is some think the other physiotherapist in the hospital forbid me with the explanation that later this will be a routine and I will walk after the surgery with too much bending the knees.

I explained this to peter and he laughed and told me during his 12 years he had not one patient who did it too much.

Another patient those a hole rotation with his legs. Another technique from our body to reduce the resistant. But since this is not my problem I do not know what he said about this.

Anyway, his job is to look at the patient, look at his walking etc… and find out what will happen next and work against it to prevent it, before it might be too late.

Obviously, I decided not to stay during the hole lengthening period at Elkes. Since I have other duties, I will take physio training at home. But after every 2, 3 weeks I will go back to peter and spend a couple days with him to control my journey.
He is the only person who can help me in this way.

He really wants to help the patient and gives every think to get the best results. He is also strict if somebody does not do his homework but at the same time patient. I was always happy to visit him.
He was also so kind to let me come next time with my gf to teach her the basic thinks, so she can perform the physio with me.
