Hi everyone, I was wondering how some people end up with different lengths after their lengthening period.

I read how they fix the last mm of length discrepancy before the removal external devices and fixation of the final length.

How do both legs end up with more or less slightly different gap lengths when the patient should be able to accurately monitor and measure the lengthened amount on the external device?

Rate control of externals via twisting a bolt is inferior to the magnetized internal nuvasive nails. Some people might turn a tad less with externals or a tad more, and it's inconsistent so there may be small discrepancy at the end. Additionally, some people start out with a tiny unnoticed discrepancy so that plays as a factor as well.

The horizontal pins in the leg bend due to subtle differences in your anatomy, e.g. muscle tightness/resistance in one leg more than the other, and the way you move.
