Hair loose: minoxidil and finasteride for a teenager

Hi, when i was in highschool when i started noticing that my hair is thinning however i didnt took minoxidil until i was on my 20s because i heard that it can stunt your growth by closing your growth plates. Recently my nephew just turned 15 and was noticing a significant hair loose so he went to the dermathologist and say that his testosterone was a little bit high so they prescribed 5% minoxidil + 1% finasteride spray and 1/4 of a 5mg finasteride tablet daily. Does anyone knows anything about finasteride and minoxidil and the possible effects on growth plates?

I dont think minoxidil would close epiphyseal plates, if any it would be Finasteride since it is close to a steroid.
