Quote from: Shortie on April 04, 2014, 12:24:09 AM I couldn't say anything I just had to leave after what she said .

Sometimes shorter girls can be more cruel than taller girls when it comes to a guy's height. Obviously I'm not blaming all short girls, a lot of them are lovely, but when a short girl wants a guy waaay taller then herself, I regard it as a complex. She might be too self-hating for some reason (might be unrelated to height), or just plain stupid, who knows. And just because she said that doesn't mean she absolutely wouldn't date a 5'7 guy. If you want to feel good about yourself again, I suggest listen to Estelle - American Boy immediately and pay attention to the lyrics   He also has to be tall!

Quote from: ChrisIsaak on April 04, 2014, 12:20:05 AMWhat can I say man, her head is f**ked up. Tell her height doesn't matter in bed.

I don't think we should shame women for having a preference.  My preference is skinny women with curves.  My head isn't fked up, it's just what I desire.

While I agree it must suck to hear what you did shortie, you weren't interested in her and now you know you'll be her type after you get LL.  I don't think she was being cruel either, she's was being open with you since you both are friends.  You could tell her the same, you would date her if it wasn't for X.

Yeah BD, you're right my friend. I shouldn't have shamed her. It's just that I've been in the same situation in the past and remembering it was a bit frustrating, to be honest. Ah man, you know what.. I should've done LL before college. That's my biggest regret. I'll probably go crazy enjoying "college life" when I get my masters degree because I was never able to sufficiently enjoy my undergrad years  He also has to be tall!  Interesting by the way, I don't think I have a specific preference in women. Everything goes, whatever works  He also has to be tall!

P.S:

This whole "preference" thing is a great topic for debate. For instance, what if this girl said "I only date white men, I don't date black men or Asian men". Would you equally respect it as a preference, or would it be racist? I think it would be an utterly racist and stupid thing to say, and I fail at respecting a preference like that. Now height, obviously, isn't as delicate a matter as race. But no one chooses to be born "white" or "short", we all get our share of the genetic lottery. Height isn't earned, it's given. So I have a hard time respecting her preference. The least I could say is that it's very shallow.

Last summer I went to a beach holiday with my best friend. (Okay, I had a crush on her for years but always kept silent about it). She already knew how much my stature hurt me psychologically and she knew all about my surgery plans. Yet she still said "I just met this guy over there, he's dark and TALL" and she also said " Yeah I went to bed with this other guy but nothing happened, I mean he's tall but he's just dumb". Needless to say, that day I got drunk and punched walls, I was covered in blood and was almost thrown to jail. So, um.. What can I say bro? Try not to take it too seriously and don't let it hurt you, it's not worth it. You deserve better. In brief... Learn from my mistakes  He also has to be tall!

P.S: This is going to be cliche perhaps, but whenever I feel bad about myself or anything, I pinch myself and remind me of people living out on the streets, people with no access to clean water, people living in warzones. Then I don't feel good about myself but I realize how minor my problems really are. When you start feeling grateful for the things you have (no matter how hard it is to teach this to yourself) you begin to fix your mind as well.

You know what, I take back the part though about her being not cruel when she said it.  That's a totally dck thing to do.  What if she was fat, he's not pointing out her physical flaws for no reason!

Btw Chris, I'm so happy for you man.  It makes me really happy to read that you're in a good mental state now and your life is going to just get better from here on out.   He also has to be tall!
