I've smoked a good portion of my life and while I don't have asthma or COPD , my lung health is probably not the best.
I've already stopped as of last year, I want to get LL in a few months but i'm not sure if my lung health will affect the risks / complication rate of LL and if I'm even going to pass my pre op exam (pre op exam includes chest xrays)
How does lung health affect risks and complication rate of LL?
I know that smoking is 100% forbidden while undergoing LL.
I'm a non-smoker but my doctor took a chest x-ray prior to surgery just to be sure. I suppose you could take one such x-ray on your own and send it to your prospective LL doctor to have your answer.
In Beijing they operated on smokers. A pateint smoked the whole way through lengthening and nobody wanted to be his roommate.

I've already stopped and surgery isn't until early July this year but I just meant overall lung health going into with all the years of smoking I have behind me (im 40)
