Maybe not, but since I know that being 6' is better than being 5'8'', I would like to do it.

When I go outside I see other people, and I see that 6'-6'2'' people look better than me, so I would like to be like them, but it's because I like it (being > 6'), not because other people could like it too.

I also heard that being taller could be an advantage when living in a big mansion.

Have you lived in big mansion. The shelf or any decoration inside, they are very tall, and harder to reach for people not tall. Taller people can reach them easier.
