I just got my acl reconstructed, and I've been using about 4-6 extra strength tylenol a day to kill the pain. Is this fine to do during the distraction period of surgery?

Maybe.  It slows down bone growth though, so it's generally not used.

Yes. During lengthening, Tylenol (aka acetaminophen) was recommended over aspirin or ibuprofen for better healing. The problem with aspirin or ibuprofen is that it will likely make your blood too thin which will make healing less efficient.

Narcotic pain relievers are the first choice.  At Guang Ji Hospital they gave out Tramadol regularly, and if you complained about pain they'd give you a Tylenol pill in addition to that.

Seeing from MyEvolution's diary, he was just using Tylenol(one of the painkillers) to mitigate the pains and he said its effect was awesome, like his pain was originally at 7-8 level and Tylenol reduced it down to 1-2 level.

Yeah, I second this. I had an ACL reconstruction four weeks ago, and while the opioids they described me were okay, Tylenol was just amazing. The pain fell from an 8 to a 0-1 almost immediately.

Hi, sorry if I dont mind to ask - but were you put on bloodthinners after the acl surgery?

Just aspirin to avoid blood clots.

Oh ok. I was wondering if the chances to have bloodclots after ACL are as high as limb lengthening surgery....
