If you were the boss, who would you hire?
Assuming everything else is equal!

For the sake of argument, it is not a sales position or something where more height is probably beneficial, eg, military/police/security/bouncer.

This post saddens me a bit.

If I had a bunch of candidates, and pretty much everything else was equal (and height wasn't a benefit to the job like it would be in a sales position), I'd hire the short guy. Because chances are, they probably are used to taking so much sh*t for their height, that they work harder to prove themselves. And plus, I'd want to pay it forward and help the little guy out.

My only concern with hiring a VERY short guy would be how others in the office may treat him and if he could handle that. But I would (hopefully) know how the other guys on the team are, and provided they are generally cool, I wouldn't have any issues with hiring the very short guy.

I'd probably end up hiring the guy 5'5-5'8 (since I've been both heights), as I'd feel a camaraderie with him, I suppose.

Taller guy, because taller people are smarter and more successful. Jk, it don't matter much, though I'd be scared to hire a giant (6' 6" and up). Midget would be awesome! C'mon, who doesn't love midgets?

I would hire a short or average guy. Maybe slightly taller, at most. I think a too tall guy would be too intimidating?

So I would hire anyone from 165 to 185. In theory height shouldn't matter, though, but if all else are equal, and it comes to this, that is my preferred range. And ideally someone shorter.

Which is why my line of argument is... don't use LL to go to extreme/very tall heights. It must just backfire. (either that, or the diminished returns are not worth it)

I've already excluded the jobs where height matters most.

Lets say: engineer? what about, doctor? what about, teacher? lawyer? judge?

if I hire a short guy in 3 years he is going to ask for a 6 month holiday and say he got into a car accident which broke both his legs. If you were the boss, who would you hire? lol

Or a ski accident.. is it hard to believe? I don't know everyone seems so upset and sympathetic about my situation but after so much time (1 month plus) I can tell they are getting suspicious??

I think the problem is really the bilateral damage.

but  its more odd, if you use Monegal's method. Back to work with one leg injured and another leg injured months later. If you were the boss, who would you hire?

Enginee: a professional one
Doctor: one who knows all the theory and has steady hands
Teacher: one with mental resistance and IQ no lower than 115
Lawyer: charismatic,an amazing strategist and adapts quickly to new situations
Judge: Someone who knows the law and has Asperger
