Anyone have some information about limb shortening on legs that has been lengthened?

4 years since removal of the rod on the tibias. The plan is to shorten the tibia and lengthen the femur for a better proportion and physical movement.

why do u want to shorten the tibias unless its absurdly long and ur having functional problems. I think long tibias are attractive no matter what u choose to wear tight jeans or looser clothing. Also long tibias bring ur knee up which looks nice.

Has anyone commented or have people pointed out or has it been noticeable by the public that has made you decide to shorten it?

Dr. Sarin shrotened someone's legs by an inch in 2013 or 2014, I think.  So it is possible.  I think it's a more difficult surgery than lengthening.

Sometimes I regret doing three inches on my tibias and wish it were only two.  It definitely makes balancing harder, and although the left leg is fine, the right leg often feels tight in the hamstring and ankle.  So I have thought about this, but I think it shouldn't be done.  Lengthened legs have been through enough trauma already.

There is a limit to how much you can shorten, without affecting the muscles...tendons, etc. Here the problem is not of stretching but of muscles losing strength when compressed/shortened.

I think it's about 2cm but you need to discuss it with a qualified surgeon. I dont believe it's harder than lengthening, if anything it's easier and can be done acutely. The recovery period would also be shorter.

The problem is the surgery itself.  Getting the bone out is way harder than just breaking it.

No one has pointed it out and it's not very noticeable, only problem is balance and better proportions. Now my tibia is longer as usual 3inches LL'er .
There's more of a personal thought/feeling of mine to achieve the "perfect" or more "normal" look. Life after my LL journey changed me , I start to look at peoples legs and body proportions more. I'm kind of obsessed with to look "normal". Lengthened my tibias helped me with the negative thought of height, but that's another story.

Hi , MDOW. I have planned to shorten my leg by 1 inch and add 1 inch to the femur , do you have amy links from Dr. Sarin's story ? I would really dig in to the story for more information. I believe in recovery, another LL journey would'nt be a probem for me .

Hi Samuimw

To be honest, I have no idea bout limb shortening.  However, I can imagine it should be a quite hard surgery.  First you need to remove the same length of both tibia and fibula and then another same length from the other leg should be removed.  It is hard for me to imagine that it can be done perfectly.
If I were you, I will simply go for 5-6 cm in femurs to balance the proportion, which should give you a really nice proportion.

Hi there, I have thought about that.  Problem is my legs would look too long compared to my torso. Leg shortening is a thing as I know it's done to people with leg length discrepancy.
