Everywhere i go in the internet i meet only sentence about "average" but is it the same as a median? If not what is the real median
Height follows a normal distribution, which means that the average and the median are the same. As for 5'9'', that would be considered slightly below the median in some countries, about the median in other countries, and even a little above the median in yet another set of countries.
Depends totally on the country like the poster above said. A 5'9 guy in my country, where the average is 5'7... is considered tall in here.
It’s average in the U.K.
I’m from Ireland where the average height is 5’7
Hawaii is 5’7 so there 5’9 would be considered tall so yea it varies from country to country .
Put it like this in Germany and Holland it’s actually below average I believe their average height varies between 5’11-6’0 in males and 5’7-5’9 in women so I’m guessing we all wish we were either German or Dutch on this forum.
I'd say it's reasonable to consider it average, you're not short, you're not tall, so, average. If you feel short I recommend you to leave forums where people talk about height, on these you'll find out that average height nowadays is 6'5...
5'9 is average and definitely higher than world median which is lower because of high population of earth is in Asia.
Man the discussion makes no sense without realizing relevant standards of diff. countries.

Yeah. 5'9 is above average if we're talking about our species as a whole.
Yep, i'm 6ft and more the more tall 80% of places
I am 6 feet 1 and from Germany. Feel slightly taller than the average.
