Quote from: goingtall on March 23, 2023, 04:30:49 AMI see that some people argue that LON on femurs is the worst possible method, so what would be valid alternatives to surgery on the femur?

Is the only problem with the LON on femurs the chance of infection caused by the perforations for the external fixators? Or are there other risks?

Pain from all kind of sources remains steady and high, for 3 months post surgery. My experience.

Looking back, almost all the pain is forgotten from my memory. I just remember that the two surgeries are very painful but the lengthening process and about 2 months after removal moderate pain is common throughout the whole thing, definitely at night it spikes up. Some people get lucky 🍀 and get low pain but other people really struggle with things like nerve pain.

If you do LON, probably excruciatingly painful.
But I don't think the degree of pain is to the extent that you want to die.
