I've now measured my dad thoroughly

This might be intersting to some:

Me.

-Lowest height: 178,3CM

-Tallest height: 179,7CM

-Weight: 62-65kg

-Shoulder width: 44-45CM

-Arm length: 75CM

-Wingspan: 174CM

-"True" inseam: 83CM

Dad

-Lowest height: 186,5CM

-Tallest height: ?? probably somewhere around 188CM

-Weight: 82-87kg

-Shoulder width: 46-47CM

-Arm length: 78CM

-Wingpsan: 181CM

-"True" inseam: 89CM

If I could throw in my two cents here real quick I will say that I've only measured my dad's inseam (crotch to floor) and used it to gain a ratio of his height and compared it to mine.

Mine is currently 70.5 cm to 160 cm... 44%

His: 71 cm to 170 cm......... 41% .....Trust me...I measured twice

It's very funny for me to stumble across this thread because I'm your height and my dad is your dad's height. Strangely, though, my shoulders are noticeably broader than my dad's, my neck is longer, head about the same size, my feet exactly the same size, my hands very very close to the same size, sitting heights the same (although my belly button is higher on my torso), and my arms 1.5 CM shorter each (strangely that 1.5 CM difference exists only in the fore arm). My 175 CM friend and I share exactly the same true inseam. My wingspan is confirmed 186 CM. I bet that if I wanted to do LL, I'd look great at 183-188 CM but no more than that. The problem would be that if I only did one segment, then the other segment would look short compared to it, and my tibiae and femurs seen quite proportional to each other to start with. Also, because of the risk to athletic ability (which I highly value) I don't know if it's personally worth it to me. But it is interesting to compare proportions. A lot of people assume that everyone naturally has the same (or similar) proportions to everyone else. Any orthopedic doctor can tell you that's a bunch BS. Even measurements of models and athletes confirm that body proportions naturally vary a lot.

Fair enough, you're lucky then. I struggle to pull of 183-184CM but then again I have harsh standards considering what looks good and what doesn't. How broad are you shoulders deltoid to deltoid when you press them against your sides, and how much have they increased in width since you started working out?

My shoulder bones haven't widened, but the muscle on top of them has grown, making them appear wider than before. I am lucky proportionally, however it may be a long time before I have the money and time for LL at the same time, and at that point I might not care enough about height to go through with it so who knows. Also, as I said, my tibia:femur ratios look really good as they are now, so just lengthening one segment might result in them looking bad. I'll need to get a few professional opinions regarding which segment would be optimal if I choose to do LL.

I'm the same height as you two and my das is about 1,90 or perhaps 1 or 2 cm's shorter.
He is broader than me though, he looks very similar to me besides the height but his ratios are pretty close to mine. I'd estimate his wingspan to be at around 195-198cm's (mine is 187).
I do not intend to go above 1,84 since I believe that 6cm's are the upper limit to preserve decent proportions with a decent level of atheltic recovery. The difference between 6 and 7cm's aren't noticable anyways.

Bro. You weigh way too little for your height. You should add 15-20 kg to look healthy. Your father should add a couple too. By the stats you listed you both seem very narrow.
I guarantee it'll improve your feelings towards your height. I was down at 67 kg's a couple of years ago, and I felt absolutely horrible. Thin and frail. Now at ~80 kg's my shoulder width is about 51 centimeters, total wingspan at 185 centimeters.

Yeah but we both have a thin build. Difference is my hips are narrow as well so I appear very athletic whilst dad doesn't have a very flattering body shape to be honest.
