Hey all,

Quick update on me, I'm booked in with Dr Giotikas to do STRYDE femurs at the start of next year. I had my final consultation last weekend and underwent a proportion analysis. Doctor G has conducted an in-depth study of over 4500 men to work out tibia / femur ratios.

Using x-rays the doctor measures the femur and the tibia (tibia to floor) to give a ratio, according to his research the normal man would have a ratio of 1.20 (tibia to femur). My results showed my ratio was 1.14 meaning my femurs are already marginally longer in proportion to my tibias.

My measurements were as follows:

Femur - 416mm
Tibia (to floor) - 474mm

Proportion analysis: 474/416 = 1.14

The analysis then looks at the ratio after lengthening (so adding 5.5cm to femur), this can this be turned into a number that represents standard deviations away from the mean (1.20). The analysis showed that after lengthening I would be around 3 standard deviations away from the mean, meaning only 1 in 500 people in the general population would have the same proportions as me naturally.

For me proportions are a BIG deal so it leaves me in a slight dilemma, I could do tibias instead but really don't want to go down this road due to added complications or I just ignore the analysis and still go with femurs.

please see links below with images of my legs currently, any input / advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Iron_Man,

Thanks for your opinion, I'm around 175cm in the morning.

I don't think they look long now but maybe when I add 5.5cm they will?

Thanks

Hey Iron_Man,

Do you have a planned date / doctor?

I have uploaded mock-ups for 6cm femur and 5cm tibia, please let me know your thoughts.
