So there’s a photo circulating from a guy that went from 5’3” to 5’8”. And I’m starting to see this photo from accounts that has zero to do with LL. Usually Dr. Shahab posts will get about 45 comments tops. This post has damn near 600. I really don’t know how I feel about this. I kinda want LL to stay in the dark. If it does go mainstream in my opinion, I opens the door to being called out on it when getting taller out of no where. Just like when women get called out for breast implants even if it’s done tastefully. What are your thoughts on this? I’m posting the viral IG photo below.

Quote from: SirStretchAlot on October 02, 2021, 11:07:30 AMI think you just contradicted yourself in the same point haha. We are doing this to satisfy society's discrimination against our preceived short stature.

@Growing
CLL has been around for 30 years. The reason it's getting more popular is due to social media as you pointed out, reduction in risk as technologies improve, and height's rising importance as women can increasing choose their partners. Remember, 100 years ago, and for many muslim and hindu countries today, parents had the final say in the groom.

Regardless, you have to differentiate between interest and capability. In the developing world, a single procedure can easily cost 60-120k USD. The cost is proportionally expensive for citizens in poorer countries. Only the relatively affluent can get it, so it will never be mainstream.

Further, if you take the weightbearing nail, you can engage in social activities as you lengthen, so no one will call you on "getting taller out of nowhere".

If you had done internal nails instead of externals, your scars will be shallow enough that scar reduction surgeries will make them impossible to distinguish from a bruise.

In short, unless you did externals, which require you to be out for months, and have many deep scars, the problem of being discovered is minimal unless you told someone.

I don’t think you were able to finish your point. It seems to have got cut off.

Quote from: Polvorón on October 02, 2021, 10:41:36 AMIf you get a CLL surgery, just enjoy your new height.
What other people think doesn't matter.
It's even better, you can know if a certain person is good for you or not.

I believe that CLL will be more popular, being tall is very appreciated by people.

This is just like solar power, it cannot be stopped from going mainstream, technology is better, energy saving is great and prices are going down. Sooner or later a lot of people will install it.

Not caring what people think is better said than done. If we didn’t care what people think none of us would be here.

The good news is people have a short attention span. So I’m hoping this dies down in a few days and people move along. I stick to my original reaction. I don’t want too many people knowing this exist.

Quote from: Highest on October 02, 2021, 01:27:04 PMAwareness increasing is terrible for LL patients. Good luck getting away with awkward proportions in future. Short arms like the guy in OPs photo, tibia/femur ratio is off or legs too long for torso YOU WILL BE CALLED OUT. Everyone here should hope this never gets into the popular consciousness.

People are dumb. They don't realize how bad this is for people that want to do it. I hate social media sometimes. Some things just need to be left in the dark and only found if people seek it out. Like Cosmetic limb Lengthening.

Agree to disagree.

CLL awareness is great for everyone as it will democratize the procedure, widen the popularity, decrease the cost while making it accessible.

it will also increase acceptance of CLL.

Everyone knows breast augmentations are popular. It’s also easy to know who got one.
Guys still love fake tits. The fact that it is known is not bad for women.

Chill guys and  go with the flow. It’s going to be Ok

Its great for the doctors that want to make more money. Not for the patients that have increase risk of being called out on it. Like breast implants. If you didn't know it exist you'd just think their breast growth was hormonal and natural.

Maybe it’s time to change this mindset. Stop thinking it about a lie. Embrace it and create your dream persona.Your best self, the person you have always wanted to be.

Stop seeing it as this monster that you hope no one will discover. This is not the truth. it is only perception.

I think your are thinking of this from a selfish standpoint because its popularity will benefit you.

It's no one business. And the point of doing CLL now is because you can do it and get away with it because it's not known.

Women today who've had work deny it because it's a personal thing people don't want to share or want people to know about.
