One of my friends who is extremely short like 154-155cm tall told me he could still blame unfairnesses even after LL cuz he thought tall guys make no effort to be tall and yeah still taller than him after LL and he didn't agree LL can cure his height neurosis.
As well, I also saw one guy on Off topic said he disagreed LL could his height neurosis cuz after LL he could still be towered over many guys.
So I am sorta convinced maybe LL can not really cure height neurosis and we are all the time exaggerating(not 'delusional of'!) the positive effects. But yeah for sure the situations can improve af after LL.
But I don't think anyone can completely cure their height neurosises purely through LL. I think maybe for those who will be still whining about unfairnesses, LL+psychiatric therapies+other treatments for mental problems is the best routine.
What's your take on this?
Again, I am not denying the positive effects completely.
As for me, I am also negatively effected by this kind of thoughts and I am more and more blaming the unfairnesses and weighing LL lower and lower in my mind.
LL really cure 'height neurosis'? Or we are already exaggerating positive effect
Quote from: Audous on February 26, 2022, 03:52:03 AMI've read accounts that even 1.5 inch added during the lengthening phase reduced a lot of their height neurosis. For some even average height isn't enough to cure height neurosis and they will need further therapy. For others even reaching 170-173cm will give them satisfactory results and height neurosis will be faded. Plenty of diaries on the forum where the individual starts off as 5'5-5'7 and lengthening to 5'8-5'10 made them not care about height anymore and are satisfied with their results.
LL curing height neurosis is really a case by case basis and depends on the individual.
I think we can try mental therapies at first and if they failed at last then we can start to consider LL.
Likewise plastic surgeries are supposed to be placed after mental therapies as well.
I don't think it's rational to consider LL as the final plan at first and deny the effects of therapies, or other treatments for mental issues, and just jump to conclusions that there are no other better ways than LL.
Also from my observations of this off topic, LL is not always the best resolution, at least it seems not gonna cure their neurosises completely and the mental detriments from height will be residual even after finishing LL.
But yeah I am also one of that kind of people you are referring to. Every 1 inch can reduce my neurosis a lot but I am lately afraid after LL I will be also whining about unfairnesses like my friend. But after LL I can get taller to 178cm which is a decent height in China so maybe my post-LL situations are far better than his but his perspectives are impacting on me.
Quote from: Ozzi6557 on February 26, 2022, 09:14:28 AMIt cured my neurosis !!! I was 172 cm now I am 180 cm. It definitely solved me this problem completely I just do not feel short. At the same time I became a bit greedy and I am thinking of doing tibia to be really tall
Good for you. But how are you coping with mental issues led by still comparing with others in the heights subconsciously?
Quote from: ilovescience on March 01, 2022, 05:54:18 AMWill there be a safer option than LL in the future? That it will add few inches of height to one who wants to be taller.
I hope and don't hope at the same time. If there will be, we short men will be fortunate enough to benefit from this kind of new technology, but every coin has its two sides, which means, taller guys can also have more conveniences to achieve the height growths, so that's why I said I don't hope as well.
Quote from: HeightJourney2021 on February 27, 2022, 01:36:38 AMAlmost everyone has height neurosis to some degree, even taller people who are 5'11" and above. However, it's been proven that for each inch you get taller, the height neurosis greatly declines.
LL is unlikely going to cure your height neurosis 100%. But it will greatly reduce height neurosis and make your life better than what it was previously.
Well said. But I am curious if there has already been such cases that after LL someone is suffering from height neurosis more severely cuz he/she finds still shorter than a lot of people and that's already post-LL height so he/she is feeling the unfairnesses more deeply.
Quote from: ilovescience on March 01, 2022, 06:16:10 AMNever thought about it. But taller people probably would ve satisfied with their heights. They won't choose to become taller since they are more comfortable with their current heights.
At least for me if not doing 16cm in total then my height neurosis wiill never disappear and that's why rn I am convinced that Ebola Virus infection is better than being short.
