On the old forum, I frequently saw people doing 12-15cm usually and they all said they were "fine" wth some "stiffness." On here I see the average has gone down to 6-9cm (rare to go over 10 unless doing both).

So what happened? was everyone on the old forum fake, or was everyone just misleading each other? How has no major investigation or video or anything been compiled about all of this?

Mostly because of the old forum admin(apotheosis) did like +20cm and said he is perfectly alright. He played on people insecurities.

Look at some doctors safety limits, i even talked with one ilizarov specialist(he is not a cosmetic surgeon doe) and he told me that even people with deformities can't go mostly more than 6cm mark for safety reasons.

The first site owner would always tell people not to go above 5 cm, and it seemed most people would lengthen from 5 cm - 6.5 cm. Anyone who would post that they would do 10 cm or multiple segments would quickly get told that they were an idiot by others on the board and to stop being delusional. People now look at Apotheosis/Sysop and Tall and think that just because they're convinced they're totally fine, that means they can go ahead and do the same large amounts.

Adding also that it was only the diaries of Betz, Sarin, sringari and mahboubian who also when speaking of post LL life talked alot about amazing success with women thus playing on the insecurities of almost all prospective LL patients.

Even though the old admin didnt do crazy lengthenings and recommended only a max of 5-7.5, he did post alot about how supposudly not being tall fks you up for life with all the doccumentaries, so called research (like the one that tallhood is correlated with intelligence) and again, amazing almost unimmaginable success with women after LL.

Worse thing for me is all that people coming there probably heavily depressed reading that crap and making them feel like a piece of dirt...
Seriously what's the point of all that "inferior" bs spreading around it doesn't help.

Probably that's why i never registered there and i knew about that forum for a long time.

The first time I read about leg lengthening was back in 1995 when I was 14 years old. It was an article I found in the school library and I was instantly fascinated. Right there and then I decided that this is something I am going to do. No question about it. I can even remember the smell from that day. That got to me so strong. Yes, I was always the shortest one in my class right up until I was 15 yo(yes, the year after).
But - that article never mentioned any numbers. Only that people lengthen a couple of centimeters and mostly due to deformities.

Life went on and I started my sporting career where I could only think of that right until one night I back in 2007 I couldn't sleep so I read lots of weird stuff online. My hairline was receding a little so I read lots of articles about hair transplant and then somehow - I found the old forum.

It was amazing. I tried to read everything. I registered immediately and read until my eyes bled and I fell asleep.
Right next day I read the entire day - everything, and I mean everything!

The admin was very conservative and I decided to do 5,5-6cm on my tibias in 4 years or so. I thought about doing 6cm in tibias and 6cm in femurs bc 5+5 was the maximum recommended but 6-7cm has been done before so why not. Some days I was 172cm so doing 12cm would put me at 184 - my dream height: 6 feet tall.

In January 2013, after 3 failed attempt to lengthen in Syria, Armenia and China - I ended up in India with the new Leg Lengthening Master Dr Sarin.
I read tons of information I could find about leg lengthening in India and I knew it was done all the time over there.
I met Dr Sarin and I liked him from the start. I spoke with one patient who happened to be a doctor himself and he said everything was fine for the money you pay.

I did it and turned to around 4cm and decided to go for 7cm.
People in the guesthouse did 8cm and I couldn't tell they'd lengthened their legs. They looked fine.

But - EVERYONE who did more than 7cm had troubles. Some more than others. There was foot paralysis, nerve damage and severe ballerina that had to be taken care of back home in their country.

Everyone on the old forum said 7cm would be fine and the Physio told me I had no ballerina. So I went and got 7cm. I turned 7,3.

Little did I know it would leave such a permanent mark in my ankles and feet. Constant stretch in my calf when I walk some days and the x-legs are the worse part really. People tend to look at my legs when I come walking and they can see something is off.
I have a very hard time running and I can not really jump as a person should.

I have done lots in sports after LL and even fought in the ring again but it's nowhere near as it once was. My low level is probably higher than many other healthy persons but I do it with large difficulties.
Sometimes I don't even want to stand up bc I know how hard it will be.

You really shouldn't pass 5cm in tibias. Maximum 6cm in femurs. The femur is already the longest bone in the body, it won't look good with sick long thighs.

We can get away with it in clothes and nobody will notice in night clubs. But life is mostly outside the clubs.

Very few seem to be really honest about this and they think they're fine as long as they can walk. Idiots.
I run, do inlines, surf, squat at gym, cycle, swim, fight, race my motorcycle and tries to do acrobatics. It is difficult as hell but I can do it. 35 years old now and I will suffer badly from this surgery in 15-20 years from now.

But being tall is priceless!

So what is so worth it? I mean you write about all the sacrifices to your athletisicm and function (pain, X legs etc...)... Is height as a positive really worth more than all of these negatives?
