Unless you have abnormally short tibias naturally, don’t do just tibias. Femurs are safer and will pose less complications.

Yeah i changed my mind I’m gonna do femur cuz i don’t wanna get arthritis lol
But only 5cm cuz dr paley says it’s safer and there would be way less chance of complications

Yeah, I already did 8cm on femurs and am currently consolidating. I had it pretty easy overall. No nerve pain. My right knee (and only my right knee) wasn’t able to fully straighten out once I got past the 6cm mark or so. However, a month after I finished lengthening, it’s almost back to being completely straightened out.

< 6cm on femur = low risk
6-8 cm on femur = medium risk
8+ cm on femur = high risk

Really though it comes down to lengthen and observe. As long as your legs are stretching well throughout the process, you can keep pushing further. Your surgeon / PT *should* stop you if they think you shouldn’t push further
