Now I don't want to sound defeatist but us forum members are not just short, we are small. That's right no matter how much we raise ourself by elongating our legs we will not grow in size. This is important because in real life we percieve others in three dimensions not just in one vertical measurment, the whole point of being tall(er) is rendered mute if one has the frame of a shorter person. Why? Because the fundamental problem is still unsolved, you're still small.
A person who is 5CM taller than you will have longer clavicles, bigger hands, thicker bones longer and broader torso etc. but it's usually neglieable. A person who is 10CM taller, however, will most likely be noticeably bigger in every way and no amount of leg lengthening is ever going to change that.
If you think you can "get away with" 5 or 6CM in each segment or "pull off" an increase of 9CM, think again, a bit more carefully. Yeah you might look passable to the uninitiated but you will never look very good nor will you instill much respect if that's your goal.
I believe very few of us can do more than 6-7CM whilst still looking good -not tolerable or adequate- but actually having a good looking body. Now some of you might say that you do look good even after a 10CM increase, that people can't see anything wrong with you mock-ups. Perhaps but that is only because there is no reference, put youself next to someone who is naturally tall and the size difference will become painfully apparent.
Remember, height varies a lot but shape doesn't.

Proportions are just as important as height -if not more.

I don't see your point, but wingspan matters.
Highly unlikely, can we please skip this kind of anecdotes and just agree that taller people are also bigger overall?

Yes yes, but your frame won't grow. You will still be a short(er) muscular man on long legs.

@Taller
Is your father unusually narrow and how wide are your shoulders from clavicle to clavicle?
