Questions for Americans who have completed leg lengthening

1. What is the process for getting your height changed in official documents/recognized by the government? Ex: government background checks, drivers license, etc

Ex: need to apply to for a government job, they see that you height is not what is listed. What are the official things you need to do to document this officially before a government background check to prevent this confusion so at least on file they see you have changed your height?

2. Aside from your local drivers license place, where else might you think to get it documented you changed your height? Is there some place that manages passports that you need to get this changed?

3. If you did the surgery twice, did you go through this process twice?

The other issue is the airport. They will see your info and think "hey, you're not that height anymore"

I never had any issue with this.  When it's time to renew your identification, just put your new height on the form in addition to any other information that changed.  Height is self-reported anyway, not like your SSN or name which are matched to another ID, usually the birth certificate in order to have the ID issued.

Things I don't know:
-If high-security government background checks are different
-If it's different for people who are older, since I had my LL in my mid-20s

I just walked in and out the dmv with a new id saying im 5’9. Nobody questioned anything.

I also have a totally unrelated question:

1. Did becoming 5'10 instead of 5'7 kill off any desire for more height? Are you totally happy with your height now?

2. What do you/would you typically say to girls who see your leg scars?

3. I guess there is always the option of getting concealing tattoos. Ever considered doing it?  I'm aware that internals would have less scaring than your case.

1.  Yes and yes.  No need for me to go any taller.

2.  I just say it's from orthopedic corrective surgery that was done to correct the angle of my legs.

3.  Yeah, I have thought about concealing tattoos.  My thoughts are that it would look weird to have a lot of ink on the legs and nowhere else.  So it means getting a lot done elsewhere too.
