I saw this graph on Reddit, which supposedly shows official data, and found it a bit suspicious. Namely, a lot of the heights seem to be a bit too high.
https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/1b4ztr0/average_male_height_in_europe/

What's your take on it?

I saw this on Reddit aswell. This is 100% bollocks, could be a projection but these numbers are all inflated. I would say do -5cm to ever country.

I live in regional Australia in a city of 100,000, many young women of European descent are 170cm +, many young men are 180+, I am 179cm and very height aware.

These numbers aren't inflated. People in Europe are tallest. Also if you live in a big city and not in rural areas of the country , the height is even bigger.

Why can't this make sense to guys here? Most of the data are very legit, except that indeed there are some excessively high ones.

Average male height in the Netherlands is 181.2 cm, 182.9 for young men only, as of the latest study (which is self-reported btw). Greece most definitely isn't 179 cm, I go there all the time, UK is 175 cm, and so on. Basically almost none of them match what you can find on Wikipedia's "Average human height by country" article.

In Lithuania now the male average height is the same as in the Netherlands according to new stats.

Baltics, Balkans and Netherlands are just insane. I literally see 6'7 13 year olds almost daily.

Yep, average height there is around 183cm now, but in major cities it probably goes as high as 186cm. There is quite difference between rural and urban areas

I live in the Netherlands, highly doubt that. But judging from your username you probably came here from the looksmax forum, so something tells me there's no point in arguing with you over how ridiculous that claim is.

Dunno about other places but it's the other way around in the Netherlands, in the major cities average is like 180-183 cm and much higher in rural areas.

It's less than 1% of the male population in the tallest country in the world, yeah it's BS.

Yeah if he said he knew of a 6'7 13 y.o, it would be persuadable, but seeing 6'7 13 y.o boys almost daily is pretty impossible. 6'7 13 y.o can be like 7'4-7'5 when growth ceases, while a country with an average height of 'only' 182-183cm can 'only' have extremely very few 7'4-7'5 adult males...

When I said 13 yo I meant that already finished going through puberty, it was just my way to emphasize how quickly kids nowadays have their growth spurts.

6'7 is nowhere near considered exceptionally tall in my area, but that might also be biased because it's known for many basketball related facilities lol.
