Obviously all these guys are on steroids.
Jeff Nippard, 5'5:
His legs look short but with LL he would look 100% fine at 5'8.
Franco Columbu, 5'5:
He honestly looks really tall and impressive, I genuinely have a hard time fathoming anyone can look this good at 5'5.
"Your Boy Al" from BB forum 5'5, RIP (apparently suicided)
Zac Efron, 5'8:
He looked absolutely tiny before taking steroids, I mean his proportions look more like a 5'6 guy than a 5'8 dude, and now after running his cycle he looks like he could probably be 5'10.
Short guys who escaped the "short guy" look by working out
Quote from: Knik on February 04, 2018, 09:55:21 PMJeff looks less than 5'5 and Zac probably less than 5'8
also a picture don't show anything.
That's what they would look like in a picture without working out.
Quote from: IwannaBeTaller on February 05, 2018, 09:25:12 AMI still don't understand how shorter guys are supposed to look less wide and broad - compared to their entire body - than taller guys. Like, a shorter guy is supposed to have more narrow shoulders in comparison to his body length than a taller guy, or what? That doesn't make any sense to me.
Yes, shorter guys typically have much smaller shoulders and chests, which looks really bad IMO. I think it's the reason most women aren't attracted to short men, rather than just not being attracted to arbitrary length of bones in their legs. Tall men on average have much wider shoulders and chests in proportion to the rest of their body, it's a very masculine and high-class look. Even tall, skinny guys a lot of people say are "ectomorphs" still have broader shoulders than short guys who weigh 180lbs and take steroids.
Ignore the writing on this photo, I would say that this is the average difference in body build between a 6'1 guy and a 5'7 guy. Of course you have "ectomorphs" and "mesomorphs" but these things are often overstated, on average as height increases clavicle length and chest width increase as well, which are very important markers for sexual attraction and dimorphism.
Quote from: IwannaBeTaller on February 05, 2018, 05:50:32 PMIs there any scientific evidence to back this up?
Dude have you ever been outside? Yes there is plenty of scientific evidence but it is beyond obvious just with plain eyes as well. I can't believe you would be considering this surgery without ever even noticing proportions like this before or paying them any attention.

I thought this was common knowledge. WTF??? I would say it's very, very ease to gauge someone's height based on photos of their chest and distance between arms alone. Maybe 10% of the time I'll be wrong, but for 90% of people it is as simple as this.
Also, I think since Jeff Nippard is built and looks rather stumpy, he would actually look pretty good after LL. Here he is with roughly 4 inches added:
Here is what he would look like if he never worked out:
And here he is in reality, just for comparison:
Quote from: RealTrump on February 06, 2018, 05:37:23 AMI escaped the short look by getting LL. Now I don't think about life in centimeters anymore. Sorry about you guys.
Unless you are also working out, there is a significant chance you look ridiculous and just don't notice. This isn't about looking "tall" because you have long legs, this is about offsetting the small chest and narrow shoulders that come as a result of being short. Adding length to your legs won't offset this and it won't look good.
Quote from: myloginacct on February 08, 2018, 12:10:39 AMAlso, I disagree with including Zac Efron in a thread like this. 5'5 and 5'8 are almost 10cm apart. 5'8 is average-short[ish] (as opposed to short-short) in the US and a lot of Europe, and isn't short in most of the world.
I included him because he has the "short guy" look. There are guys shorter than him who look taller, Jon Stewart for example is only 5'7 but he looks 6 ft tall easily. Meanwhile if I saw a photo of Efron alone I would guess him as being 5'6, 5'6.5 at most.
Quote from: Android on March 13, 2018, 02:02:24 AMAs far as I'm concerned, this entire thread is opinion, and that's OK.
So you're saying you can look like a normal grown male at 5'6 and under? Bobbleheads everywhere man... It looks comical being this size. There is no doubting that working out makes short guys look more "normal" if they do it properly (sometimes can end up looking worse if they go overboard).
This Drew Lynch guy has an identical build and similar phenotype to Jeff Nippard. This is what Jeff Nippard would really look like if he had never began working out.![]()

In a lot of photos, even in sunny California, he is wearing bomber jackets in attempts to make his shoulders look less narrow.
