What's the best?
Assuming you are ripped and handsome.
Also say the average height in your country, since definitely the "best height" would be relative to that.
Would 178 cm be not as good chance as a 181 cm guy?
Quote from: NewHeights on January 30, 2015, 01:33:55 PMI know this is a bit of a contrarian idea, and a unique philosophical discussion, but one unique benefit of not being tall is that it weeds out superficial women who want a guy because he is tall. Like I always say, I would love to be 5' 10" because women who are only interested in guys who are 6'+, are jackasses. Being 5' 10" would allow me to avoid such women. If a short guy can get a girlfriend, she is more likely to be a less superficial person because she probably didn't choose you for aesthetics (although prob 50% of women don't give a flying fk about height)
Im not talking about women, but being paid because you look good.
Quote from: Uppland on January 30, 2015, 12:52:38 PMWell women think height is a turn-on so I guess the taller you are the better -within reason of course.
Im from Singapore and some girls aren't comfortable with guys above 183 (six feet). Same thing with guys (who say that friends above 183 are abit intimidating, and that 180 cm is better).
Since the average height statistically here is 173 (it seems much higher though), I would think that 10 cm above average height is the highest height you can go without being struck off by potential bosses or clients as too tall.
So If it is America, it would be 176 + 10 = 186 cm is too tall.
So taller is better? For Social Escorts? Would a 181 cm guy lose out to, say a guy who is 190 cm? Or it doesn't seem to matter? What about for stripper
Quote from: ReadRothbard on January 31, 2015, 01:51:07 AMEh, even 6'4 tends to be too much for most girls. Is say 5'11-6'2 is the sweet spot for strippers--they don't tend to be much taller than 6'2, though. An 181 cm guy might lose out to a 190 cm guy depending on a few different factors, but height matters a lot less past 180 cm for strippersand escorts.
Yeh I would think if you pass 180 in an Asian country or 184 in a non-Asian country (since aasian countries have average heights 4-6 cm lower), then you are pretty good to go.'''
There are studies that show that for women, larger eyes are more attractive. But once you reach a certain critical point, it starts to look awkward.
I believe in the same theory for height. Past a certain point (3 standard deviations) ie 188 cm in non-Asian countries, you will look weird/freak in a non-basketball setting.
Quote from: ReadRothbard on January 31, 2015, 06:56:08 AMHonestly, 180-183 cm is probably going to be more than enough in even a Western country. After that point, every inch increased in height diminishes in returns exponentially.
I would agree with you. Paley has a height chart for the western population. 180-183 if I recall correctly is already the top 10-25% of the population. 180cm is the top 10-12% in Singapore. (Yes BUT we have many youngsters in the 180-190+ range)
Update: here's the figures
http://www.paleyinstitute.org/?q=node/49 (Search for: normal range)
181 is already 75th percentile.
My target height is 181-182. At that height, with a 1-2 cm lift, I am already close to 185. With boots, it would be already close to 190 but probably freak-ish due to the long tibia.
Quote from: endomorphisme on January 31, 2015, 08:19:08 AMIt s very subjective, and I don t think 183 cm is the 10 th percentile for young caucasian male, it s more in the 65 th percentile.
for a white young man 188-189 cm is the sweet spot, you are taller than 85-88 % of men
2 meters starts to be too tall
I think all this is delusion.
I used to think the average in Singapore is 172, but I see so many 178s I was convinced the average is 178 here.
But the official statistics from a tertiary hospital (in 2009) which measured 18 year olds is 172.4. Assume they grow 1-2 cm more, that is 174.
This means, at most, that the younger population is taller by only about 2 cm.
So if 176 is American average, 178 is the youngster average.
Its all just bull perception. In Korea I thought the average was 178. But no, hell no, they measured army enlistees and average is 173.
Remember, when we go out, we tend to forget the short guys.

Also, considering that America is already developed by the 1990s, I do not think that there would be such a rise in height due to good nutrition. That's blasphemy.
Same for Sinagpore, we became developed since the 1980s or 1990s; yes people do eat more now, but I do not think much. Our per capita income has all along been the same as America or higher.
