I have severe Degenerative Disc Disease in my thoracic spine. I have constant pain, scoliosis, numbness in hands and really thinking about surgery. Also have a feeling like I've lost about 5 cm in my height due to this disease. So a question to people who know. Does this surgery restore your initial height?

Yes but not as much as you think you will regain. Also spinal fusion is a last resort because you will always be extremely stiff like a wooden plank and the pain will not go away. It will just straighten your spine especially if it's a huge curve. the bigger the curve the bigger height 'gained'
