Since doctors seems to agree that staged lenghetning have less chances of PE and FE ,what if ,even with stryde for example , we did a staged lenghetning doing one femur at the time 1 month apart from each other ?
Pros :
-Less chances of PE n FE
-Easier time because you go trough the first hard weeks with one leg sore n the other perfect so potentially even less medications n mental stress .
-MAYBE less problem with constipation post-OP n ofc way better mobility after surgery ,I would say you could do anything you could before since one leg it's ok n the other has a wb nail after all .
Cons :
-2 surgeries meaning double chances of surgical "issues"
-it would take 1 month more to finish the process
- the cost would be higher due to double surgery fees (maybe you can balance that by having less days at the hospital post op since one leg is fine n the other wb) .
I believe it's not that out of the world as an approach because would lengthen the amount of lenghetning time just by 1 month but would make it easier n safer overall .
Splitting the pain n gradually "losing" your mobility sounds less invasive both mentally n physically .
Thoughts ?
* I might have left out some pros n cons but those are the ones that came in my mind late at night , I might edit the thread if other aspects come in my mind
It's not bad per se but even with unlimited money I'm not sure it's that great
Sure you'll feel much better having a good leg to rely on
But as soon as you do the second surgery, both legs are going to suck
I'm not sure you're saving that much discomfort
lol people these days have all sorts of excuses to delay or not do this.

first waiting for weight bearing nails
then doing staged. If you're doing staged then why not use Precise 2 nails?
next waiting for more research in this field just to be "sure"?
If someone was 175 and having doubts its best to leave the whole idea and move on. life is too short.
just my advice. good luck whatever you choose.
So many patients are doing this today with Precise nails at the best clinics like Paley, Donghoon, Debiparshad. If the risk of constipation and embolism worries you so much that you want to wait for a weight bearing nail and then further you wanna do staged it makes no sense to me. maybe This is not for you.

You are the psychopath of the forum just with another account !
N you are ,per usual , STUPID!
P2 Its not weight bearing and doing staged P2 takes 6 months apart from first n 2nd surgery , until the last leg its FULLY HEALED !!!!!!!
With a wb nail that would not be the case so use that insignificant amount of brain you have left before you type something !
No one said I would not do bilateral wb I just opened a topic to have thoughts .
You are the one claiming option 5 and doing nothing ; I talked to surgeons and I'm just waiting for wb nail , period !
Then if I want to do staged , bilateral etc. Should not be your concern since you gave no thoughts on the topic but rather on your (per usual) pathetic pov on other things like ppl doing precice , me leaving the forum etc. When in reality you are the most ANNOYING human being in this forum .

Yes but this was not the only "pro" I talked about .
Also , first 3 weeks seems to be the bad one so at 1 month , the other leg should be kinda fine so still the experience would not be the same as a bilateral.
Idk if it's the right thing but its surely more "annoying" in terms of approach but I feel like it's easier on the body n mind and ig we have to weight out what we prefer for our journey .

That is not me. You are making big mistake. I am just spouting statements containing comparisons from being short to devastating diseases and thats all.
Before misunderstands are arisen from your ranting just make apology to that guy.

You sound so irritated to hear the truth. Truth is, this surgery is not for everyone. If you are scared of constipation and embolism and wants to wait for weight bearing and then wants to do staged then I think you don't really want to do this. People who do this have already decided they are gonna go ahead with it. If you can wait for years just so a weight bearing nail comes and you then do staged then do you really need this? Usually people who do it want to do it as fast as possible and move on.
2024 weight bearing nail comes out
2025 weight bearing nail seems reliable
2025-2026 you do staged procedure
OK
Just wanted to give you honest advice but got hostility. Just take a flight to South Korea or Las Vegas and see patients.

You ( the psychopath with 2 accounts) are talking about things I did not say such as " wait for stryde then I will do staged" .
I was just asking about what would be better .
We got it you would kill urself and blablabla but that not because of height but because you are crazy .
I would appreciate you not commenting on my posts and I will not comment yours !
Byeee
You are "SpeedDialer" I know
I hope no one learns something harmful from this thread. Pulmonary embolism risk does not decrease with staged.
