I'm looking for surgeons who can do clavicle lengthening by distraction osteogenesis as described in this study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23482270 but for completely cosmetic reasons. I'd also prefer if the surgeons are situated in a first world country like the US, Canada or a country that's part of the EU.
I'm aware that there are doctors who perform clavicle lengthening by other measures, however as far as I'm aware only a total of one inch of width can be added, and I'm not aware if the surgery can be performed more than once on the same clavicle for more results. However, by doing distraction osteogenesis as described in the above study it can be lengthened by up to 40mm per clavicle, which is more in lines of what I'm looking for since I'm 2 inches below average in shoulder width.
Any ideas?
Surgeons who are willing to perform Clavicle Lengthening
dr. Solomin from Russia is able to do this surgery though he thinks the result won't be the same as how patients imagine
What does he mean by that? Has he done it before, or is he just making an educated guess? Because lengthening the clavicle would increase shoulder width guaranteed. Perhaps he means that lengthening it by artificial means would result in it looking unnatural?
He's making an educated guess. He's never done it before and told me it's something he gets asked about alot. He thinks the effect is questionable and isn't sure if it will transfer into actual measurable shoulder width.
dr. Solomin means, it depends on clavicle/scapula ratio. if patient already has normal ratio, theresult is, the shoulder will bent backwards
Wide shoulders, tiny rib cage? No thanks
for example, i have big rib cage but short clavicle, don't know about scapula yet
very dangerous.
would not advice clavicle lengthening for anyone

Why would it be any more dangerous than regular leg lengthening?
