The problem with LL surgery is that it is most beneficial to do it in your 20s since most likely you will be single and will have many more years of your life remaining(hopefully). Most people aren't mature or do not have money to do LL during this period. Later on, you will have money but the time would have passed and you would already be married. Also, your psychological state would have been kind of set at this stage. LL will most likely be feasible now but the benefits of it will be reduced. This is the thing that I really hate and it makes me depressed. I wish the prices/timeline was not so steep. On top of that, the stigma in telling your spouse, hiding the procedure from public, the flak that you get from undergoing the procedure is insane..
It sucks, but at least we have it

Just having it is not enough, right? Majority of people will not be able to undergo the procedure for this reason who are otherwise excellent candidates. Even on this forum, only 10 percent may take the plunge. Even if the surgery is successful, for some people, it could affect their careers/relationships

I think a lot of people in 20s can afford LL, some of them can.
The only barrier is that LL is painful and the rehab time is long, which could be why many not considering doing it. They prefer high heel shoes.
I kinda disagree. Maybe 50's would be obviously too late to weight the benefits. However, 30's (better if early 30's) should still be the right age to get LL. We should treat LL as a psychological solution to height neurosis, not a way to gain some materialistic means. For e.g., if you have to get LL done to be able to get married, that sounds pretty bad. But if you get LL done, your mind is free, you set out to do other things, then get married eventually, that's a different story.
Height neurosis is a real thing that bothers your mind. Once you get rid of it, who knows you might develop new hobbies/interests as your brain has space now to explore other things. Speaking from experience
Then your height dysphoria is evidently not severe. Just give up this surgery.
There is no dilemma. If by "enjoying the benefits" for longer you mean "having access to more women" (because that is the only benefit this surgery brings to someone who is 165+) than I can assure you that you can enjoy dating women in their 20's when you are 30, 40 and depending on your looks, even 50's. Men that take care of themselves age like wine (till a certain age)

Sorry a bit confusing. It only benefits people who are 165 or taller?

I'm not young anymore.
But the thing in my case is simple: my height neurosis is so intruding, so painful, that I just want, I NEED to cure it. And so far I have definitely proof that couselling or any other imaginable alternative doesn't solve the issue.
At the same time, considering all introspection, some "simulations" in real life situations, my lack of ambition of becoming "real" or "very" tall, and also the testimony of many people who did LL, there is hope for me regardless of age.
I JUST want to cure a disease that causes me psychological, somatic (strange ill sensation in legs), physical depression states, permanent suffering, and hampers drastically inner peace, and a normal social and love life.

Dig the inner peace. I certified that after LL, the inner peace feels even more satisfied.
