I did LON femur this summer. i’m 2 months into consolidation and i noticed that my left leg is a little shorter. Is this fixable when i will remove the internal nails?

yes, i did it in turkey
no, i will not say who was my surgeon

Is not bad, as other doctors said but who is happy with uneven legs?.. i’m guessing about 0.5-1cm discrepancy.  i can’t figure out how much because i couldn’t found in my country  x-ray machine that does precise measurements and measurements from turkey were different every other day.

thank you all

I know they’re uneven already. I had my x-rays before the surgery. legs were even before.
My question was, do you guys know if is fixable when i will remove the internal nails?

weird that the short leg is the one that gave me most of the problems now but was the most flexible during lengthening.

Quote from: LIVELIFETHEWAYIWANT on December 02, 2022, 04:33:15 PMYour choices are , lengthen the short one now , or shorten the long one now . when you remove the nails , the 1 CM is already set (bone healed)

How can I lengthen the short one now? is been 2 months since i removed the frames. the nail is fixed with screws

probably is

Quote from: LIVELIFETHEWAYIWANT on December 02, 2022, 10:20:31 PM before removing the frame, your doctor did not check if both legs are same length?

he did but he was wrong

Quote from: shortisnotfun on December 06, 2022, 06:12:48 AMAre your femur bones bent? They look very bent. Might be the way your leg was positioned.

might be, yes. I did not got the 7.8 cm that I lengthen due to that. Doctors in my country are not specialised in this kind of surgery and they’re saying that everything looks good. My surgeon obviously says the same.

Quote from: motoboarder on December 09, 2022, 12:34:43 AMDid you have bowl legs before surgery? It seemed they might have cut too high causing the top bones to curve out..

I did not. I know they’re curved now. lucky, you can’t really tell in real life. is visible only in x-rays. hopefully this won’t affect my gait. hopefully they’ll straighten a little bit with consolidation.  Uneven legs after LON femur

i’m trying to wait longer for my next x-rays because i believe i did way to many when i had the surgery.
