probably is

For another time a bad outcome from a Turkish doctor. They tend to be even worse than the Indian one who used to be before some years the nightmare of LL.

I don't think you can do much things now my friend that you have a fixed nail on your bones. The best you can do is to wait for the bone to heal so you could be able to get the nail out and then rebreak the bone and use something cheap and comfortable like a monorail fixator to get the 1cm in about 2 weeks. Then you‘ll wait for about 1,5 month more and you could remove it and be fine.

1cm is not that small. For 0,5cm I wouldn't bother but 1cm can make you feel some discrepancy and in the future would make your back hurt and may even cause you premature arthritis.
So, use an insole till then and in some years get it fixed.

Quote from: albert on December 01, 2022, 10:06:44 PMI did LON femur this summer. i’m 2 months into consolidation and i noticed that my left leg is a little shorter. Is this fixable when i will remove the internal nails?

yes, i did it in turkey
no, i will not say who was my surgeon

Is not bad, as other doctors said but who is happy with uneven legs?.. i’m guessing about 0.5-1cm discrepancy.  i can’t figure out how much because i couldn’t found in my country  x-ray machine that does precise measurements and measurements from turkey were different every other day.

thank you all

Be careful because it can just be a muscle problem (one leg has not still developed the muscle well enough so it can seem shorter), or just that your body wants to return to the position you had before you LL. So after LL your hip get positioned like this and you have the feeling one of your legs is shorter. I had this feeling for monthes with my right leg. The only way to now if you had any length discrepancy between your legs is with a "telemetry exam" (idk if its correct this name in english). Ask a doctor to make a Ray-X of all your body. He/She will be able to see any difference of length between your femurs.

Anyway, my LL doctor said until 1cm of difference, there is no problem. Your body is gonna compensate very well and you will not notice it.

Your femurs are obviously misaligned by the way, it's worst than having a 1cm discrepancy...
What an horrible work..

There is no major misalignment visible in this x ray. I don't know about discrepancy because we don't have a ruler in the x ray to measure it but for sure there is not a huge misalignment as you wrote.

I know they’re uneven already. I had my x-rays before the surgery. legs were even before.
My question was, do you guys know if is fixable when i will remove the internal nails?

weird that the short leg is the one that gave me most of the problems now but was the most flexible during lengthening.

There are a few things off in your x-ray. I marked it red.

Within those two issues in the x-ray, none of it seems to be related to a difference in femur length. Maybe you are overcompensating a difference in muscle strength with a bad posture.

Are your femur bones bent? They look very bent. Might be the way your leg was positioned.

might be, yes. I did not got the 7.8 cm that I lengthen due to that. Doctors in my country are not specialised in this kind of surgery and they’re saying that everything looks good. My surgeon obviously says the same.

This is what i referred to as "misaligned", your bones are supposed to be straight, they're obviously curved, here's a normal scan to compare: https://paleyinstitute.org/wp-content/uploads/stature-lengthening-center.jpg

I think the right term is "femoral bowing", that's more worrying than your minor leg discrepancy.
