We all know that femur lengthening is always artificial and you don't get the same amount as you lengthened. It actually gets reduced up to milimeters.

I just wanted to know how much should I lengthen in order to get 7cm weak? I want to be 180 with one surgery, should I lengthen to 7.5 or more than that? How much do you think i'd lose? Can we see the loss before stopping the lengthening process?

Best Regards

Hello !
I’m actually doing LON on Femur ( I’m around 2.1 cm now ).
Trust me Femur is hard to do and sometimes you can’t even go to 7.5-8cm.
You will have knee pain, big difficulty with flexibility, pain in all the muscul because of the leghtening.
My biggest advice to you is if you really want to do like 7.5cm just work A LOT on you’re flexibility and losing weight !

Hello,

May the luck be with you in your journey.
Even though I've seen tons of comments regarding to hatred of wannabetaller team, I'm glad that you are doing fine! And I personally will go with Stryde so I think it's going to be way easier for me to lengthen femurs. Also, consider that I'll have the surgery in 5 years, would it be great for me to stretch my legs every single day for 5 years? It takes 10 minutes so, it's a nothing for me. If it's going to make excellent changes while the procedure, i see no problem spending 10 mins per day for stretching.

@A

If i was you, i would wear big shoes the time you need to have all the money and then do it.
Because this forum is a good one but it can really be an obsession and it’s not good for you.
I was around the same height than you before surgery so i understand you’re situation.
Try to follow you’re dream but don’t make this dream an obsession !

For the amount of height i would recommend you to try 8cm whatever and you’re body will tell you when you have to stop. This is crazy but after this surgery the connection between my mind and my body is way more strong. It’s like if you’re body tell you what to do.

@more

Bro this is SO HARD, because you try to flex you’re knee but each 6 hours you have to lenghten 0.25mm. So it’s almost impossible to get a lot of flexibility during the distraction! I can flex like 60 degrès i think ! But 90 degres is too hard for me

Brother your are in trouble , Trust me.if bending is below 120° during lengthening time ,you need to see Knee joint space and alignment if your knee joint space is reduced and bone are misaligned stop your lengthening ASAP.

A Good Doctor will never do external femur for cosmetic purpose
For femur Internal nails are the best.
When should do External femur?
1.If Your leg got fractured and one leg become shorter and shorter legs doesn't have intramedullary canal continuity and bone is too much irregular
2. Your intramedullary canal is too much narrow and internal nail can not go in your bone.

Better to avoid external femur for cosmetic purpose

So wtf do you think people should do on tibias? Internal on tibias? I don't think it'd be a 10/10 choice.
