dont touch those  fki n pins... cover them well and clean them very carefully once a week... blood clots make natural barrier and you are just breaking that seal. Dont use that cream too. Once you have infection take antibiotics for 7 days until it heals. Thats it. DO NOT TAKE SHOWER!!! Only sponge bath and very careful leg cleaning with a moist cloth far away from the pins, not wet, moist! DO NOT TOUCH PINS!

Well, it's already done. I feel like fluid may have gotten into my legs, and the change in pressure is affecting my nerves. I am trying to keep them warm and exercising as much as I can. Anyone have advice to get past this? The pain is really deep, it feels like bone/nerve pain as opposed to soft tissue pain from lengthening. Painkillers are allowing me to walk, but it is definitely harder than before.

At the moment I've decided to tough it out and keep the frames on without a nail. My opinion changes every day, when it's going good I feel like lengthening to 8-9 and nailing, when it's bad like now I feel like tapping out at 5-5.5 and consolidating. Very tough to say.

My goal, at this time is 6-6.5 with only frames, but the pain is slightly getting to me.

Yesterday I was able to take painkillers and walk outside a good 400m , but without painkillers it would be impossible, I skipped lengthening 2 days now, but going to try and do 2 turns today and just rest. My ankles have swollen and filled with fluid, which could be from the showering, so I'll stay in bed today with ankles elevated and do a big walk tomorrow.

Doctor really hasn't said anything since its the weekend. Fending for myself as usual.

I have TSF frames on, I was told not to shower for more than 2 months.

The swelling might also come from certain excercises you've done. Elevating your legs sounds like a good idea.

Did you get any pills prescribed for the nerve pain? Something like Lyrica? I have to take that twice a day on top of the painkillers.

I was prescribed diclophenac injection with dexamethasone. This has been an absolute lifesaver. I was originally prescribed a trauma injection that would knock me out, but it wasn't strong enough. I can't remember the name. I also have ketonal pills when pain is annoying, however it won't help me walk.

Well, I spoke to my doctor friend and he told me it was an idiotic idea. All I have done is put extra fluid into my legs, which has probably built up in my ankles now. Keeping them elevated will circulate it into my bloodstream, but it will take a week or so. Same diagnosis though, lots of vegetables and try to do light exercise to keep blood flowing. Cold/hot compress to cut the swelling.

If you shower, bag your legs. Only way to clean your pin points is gauze and saline solution, no soap. I put soap and water into almost all of my cuts, then covered it with antibiotic cream, which has probably inflamed the pin point more so.

In all I will probably lose 4 days lengthening, maybe more if it still hurts.

so for 6.5cm lengthening without any nail i'd say it could take around give or take 7-8 months until the frames comes off if all goes well.

I started reading your diary a few days ago.

How are you doing right now? Do you have other hospital options nearby, if the need arises?

Sorry to hear your doctor has been, apparently, so nonchalant about it all.

Best of luck.
