I mean, the major risks of this surgery, other than non-union and infections (up to
osteomyelitis), are mostly all related to forms of embolism. Considering how many of us were/are people who spend so much time sat in a chair during the day, I think this subject is among the most vital ones for the community. The prolonged immobility just after the surgery also doesn't help in the case of patients with predisposition.
