Anyone here have this done at age 45? Recently divorced and going through midlife crisis trying to navigate dating websites. It blows being 5'6". I'm aware of the risks and am willing to deal with them but the expense and possibility of losing a decent job, not to mention the money outlay, is making me pause. I'm thinking Guichet but he emailed me his average increase is 2.68". Really? Doesn't seem worth it. Can people chime in if I'm thinking of this the wrong way? I need a push to see the positive. Thanks, new to this forum
never thought someone qt 40+ wants ll. you shouldnt get it. risk is high at your age
This is partially why I refuse to enter another relationship until I do my second LL.
The problem with being short is that (even without knowing it) you end up trapped in relationships. I had a very attractive gf for 5 years, and boy did I try to keep her (I knew it would be much harder to find everything I want in a woman, looks and personality, since I was and still am ridiculously short). If you're divorced/dumped (even if you're the dumper), it's a very rude awakening to have to date again being short. Women have always cared about height, but they have it way too easy these days, so being short is already 2.5 strikes against you (sometimes 3, and the conversation doesn't even begin). When it comes to dating, women (assuming they're at least a bit above average looking) have the power, make no mistake.
But I agree with you...I was able to pull it off once and get to a solid 5'8", and was lucky to be able to hang onto my job while doing it. I'm not so sure I'll be able to pull this off again without heaving to give up my job. If it weren't for that, I'd have no reservations about doing it again.

Why are you saying this kind of ? Should say nothing at all if you are going to be negative.
@spyratoss
I reccommend you read OldieButGoldie's diary. Sure you are more likely to have complications at your age, but he was also 45 years old, 173cm and had a relatively uncomplicated lengthening with Betz. He has mixed feelings about the surgery, but he does not regret it.

Yellow - I agree. Depending on where you live, women get the upper-hand these days in my city. They ask for too much but have little to offer. It's an arkward feeling have a better chest and booty than the chick I'm dating (I go to the gym)

Chineseguy - Well, there are some people who rather die than being short. It depends.
Spyratoss - I don't know anything about you to chime. Are you rich? Healthy? Job's situation? Mental's toughness? Maybe you should talk to someone personally who actually knows more about you than to seek random online advice. We don't know enough about you to give you advice.
I was once told and believe in you are as old as how fit your body is and how you maintain it. 45 in my opinion is not even middle age and in certain countries can be even considered a young man
Well, got a stable job and about 2/3rds there with money. I want to do Guichet and I think he doesn't have a cut-off until sixty if I recall one of his early emails. Does anyone know? Being a contractor, I could always get my job back if i make it seem like I'm gonna be out for cancer or something major. Good questions though Smallguy. I'm 5'6" and 5'8" - 5'9" would be reasonable w/femoral lengthening. Otherwise, I'm in great health.
Really? The risks are that much higher? I'm fairly athletic, but damn, if that excludes me that would suck.
Good start, thanks. I"m not expecting to heal like a twenty year old, but I've done my share of triathlons, weight lift, bike, swim, etc. Healthier than many younger dudes. I would think that being older also means that some more desperate older women that are single or MILFs might give me more of a chance. I'm not looking to club at my age but would be nice to be 5'8" or 5'9" with a decent heel; one less thing to worry about.
