Some of my held beliefs about being short changed after LL:

- I thought my height would have a huge huge impact on how people perceive and respect me as a man. I no longer believe that at all. Met a few shorter guys that I have tremendous respect for, and genuinely admire them. Probably only matters for first encounters, but that doesn't last.
- How attractive you are will change if you are taller. TRUE but now think that can be achieved in other ways. Charisma matters a loooot more than height does
- A lot more I can't list off the top of my head. Will come back if more comes into my mind.

Hmm I’d think height is probably the number one thing with regards to how attractive you are to females. Of course it should not take over your whole personality

If you are 5'7 or 5'8 and lengthen to 5'10 or 5'11 more women might consider dating you but it won't make you more attractive to women from my experience. Basically, your dating pool expands but you still have to work jut as hard to get any of the girls in your dating pool.

I think dating becomes easier when you reach a 183-190 cm range, I wouldn't do this for dating if I would still end up under that range. That's my personal view on things. Roughly 6' to 6'3 for you Americans.

What you're saying just doesn't make any sense. Go see how many women will date a guy who is 2-3 inches shorter than them. Larger pool = increasing your chances. Not that I advocate for people to do LL for the sake of dating, but each to his own.

It does make sense, I don't think 5'10 is makes you SIGNIFICANTLY more attractive than 5'8 to women who would have considered dating you previously (they didn't reject you purely based on height). However, you do become an option to some women would have rejected you purely based on height before. Whereas going from 5'8 to 6'1 will make you more attractive to the vast majority of women who would have been willing to date you at 5'8.

By being willing to date a man who is about average height they already made it clear that height to them was important, yes, but not the end all be all. Going from slightly below average to slightly above average isn't going to make you that much more attractive to those women.

The women that were willing to date you at 5'8 won't suddenly salivate and jump in bed with you just because you are 5'10... I am not saying that this would happen if you were 6'+, but being tall makes dating easier while being average height increases the size of your dating pool.

That's just my personal take on things, feel free to disagree.

I also don't think doing this procedure to make yourself more marketable in the dating scene is a good idea.

I don't want to offend you, but I think you're delusional. There is a difference between "I'm only dating 6'+ guys" (which will reject both 5'8 and 5'10) to "I don't want to date someone shorter than me".

You're 5'10. I understand you have tall people around you making you feel like you're on the shorter end, but I don't think you'll ever understand what it means to be truly short (like "95% of the guys are taller than you" short). And honestly? Good for you that you don't need to.

I think, at the end of the day, if you have thought about this for years and really want to do it, you should do it, no matter what the reason is. And set a goal and don't overdo it. There will always be someone in this world taller than you, so do what you can if it is safe and don't think it about it again afterwards.

Day 50:

My time left here is shorter than the time I've spent here. I am at 4.4 cm, which means 36 mm to go. Plus a week afterwards for X ray and adjustments if needed, I have about 43 days left before I head back home. Last few days were busy. Last batch of patients are all leaving. I am happy for them. I've grown to like this place and got too used to this life. It reminds me of one of the summer camps I went to when I was a kid. At the beginning I really wanted to go home, and at the end I hoped time would go a little slower. Socialing with other patients really helps my sanity and keeps me positive.

I am overall doing pretty well. Muscles got a little tighter but not by much. Nerve pain has got worse in my lower left leg, but it is still very much managable. The pain is high only after I sit for a long time. If I stand up and lie flat for a little bit, it goes away. Still when it is bad, it is pretty bad, but it never stayed long, like a minute at max. I started to take gabapentin 4 days ago after writing an email to the PAs. It takes a few days to kick in, and I already feel it's helping the pain. No nerve pain in my right leg though. Only knee pain when I sit for too long, and that's muscle pain. It may be that I have herniated disc and have lower back pain on the left side. Nothing worrying so far. I will defintely update again after seeing Robbins again next Monday.
