Even if you got an x-ray for your left hand, that doesn't mean that all the bone has hardened. The vertebrae should open for a good amount of time after puberty is "finished," along with many other parts. Although, some cases can be delayed growth patterns in which the body will sometime grow uncontrollably for a short time to make up for what's lost, but it's a rare feat.
I started puberty when I was ten, and it sucked seeing all my friends get taller later on only to stop acknowledging me.

What's odd though is that our best basketball player in my highschool started puberty when he was 8, but he finished growing around 12-13. What's even more peculiar is the fact that he is 6"2.
So that rose my confusion in the precocious pattern...

Same thing with a dude in our highschool. He's about 6'6 or so, and he started puberty with me when he was only about 2-4 inches taller than me.
My dad also started puberty at eight years old. He was 6'2 (188CM) and stopped growing by the time he was 12 years old. By 13 he already had all his wisdom teeth. I started puberty at a later age than him but am still much shorter. Genetics is a funny thing indeed.
It's all bull , no one knows for sure what exactly makes us grow because it's such a complicated process. Taller parents equal a greater chance to be tall and growth hormone might help -it might. Other than that you just better hope you're one of the lucky ones because this shiet is all a lottery as far as we are concerned. I feel kinda bitter thinking about it -if I had grown just 5CM more I'd be so much better off -5CM! That's like nothing when you are 12, it's insignificant when you look at a ruler but now I gotta do some surgery straight from hell just to be 5CM taller -it really, really sucks.
