Diary - 5cm LON Tibia in hanoi by Dr. Doan
the pain for the first few days were quite bad like 6/10 bad. I am supposed to apply for a visa but i am just going to overstay and pay a fine instead, because i am already in the country and it’s kinda difficult to extend my stay. Yea i know some patients at the hospital that spoke english and we found an apartment together. Majority are locals but there were a fee foreigners from Singapore, China, Japan and US. I am lengthening 1mm/day as i do not want any complications or nerve damage. my roommate lengthen at 1.33mm a day and was screaming because of the nerve pain.
i am not sure about the screws, but the visa i am supposed to apply before entering but i did not. the clinic doesn’t do it for you
lost alot of weight about 5kg in 3 weeks. getting on average 4hrs a sleep every night. night time is the worst, morning is the best part of the day. Pain level is about 2/10 every time i wake up from the soreness of the legs. Knee bending is great on the left leg and good on the right leg.
Thank you! I will be 2cm longer in 3 days. No pain that was excruciatingly painful. But I have started to experience some random zaps of electric shock in my shins. Those are about 4/10 but it is only for that instance. Other than that, I think everything is going well, just kinda boring. Only looking forward to my x ray on 9 June which is exactly 3 weeks from now.
if i have the time i will do 0.75mm but i don’t so I am doing 1mm per day as recommended by the doctor.
no pics x ray on 9 june
after like 19 days of lengthening and sleepless nights i found that taking paracetamol, tramadol and neurotin helps me sleep through the night without pain but I am hoping that taking those pills everyday will at least last me for the next month at least. before they become ineffective due to daily use
my physiotherapist made me stand up for 2 minutes today with the help of a walker. My legs felt extremely heavy. After the session is over my legs feel kinda cold and it aches a lot but it is said to help with recovery. idk about that but i just hope that it gets better as my legs get stronger.
I also hate the part that everytime I bend my knee for a period of time such as hanging my legs over the bed side to do physiotherapy or soak them in warm water there will be an uncomfortable 2/10 aches when i lay back on the bed to straighten my legs. The pain last for 30-45minutes everytime…
