Monegal did a great job on me....was I lucky?  I don't know but no knee pain and good results.  Simply put, I think he got better over time.  I am sorry if anyone had other than good results.

How do you contact Monegal? Went to the clinic's website and can't find him listed under surgeons in the bone division. Anyone know if he is still practicing?

I contacted him using the email mentioned in page 1. I will visit him next week.

He denies this, but some deaths have been reported due to several problems and some patients have sued him. Not to be trusted at all.

I went to a "famous" Spanish “specialist” for tibial lengthening surgery, hoping to improve my quality of life. Instead, I walked into a disaster. His attitude from day one should have been a red flag —arrogant, dismissive, and disturbingly overconfident. He talks like a genius innovator, but acts like someone gambling with human bodies.

Throughout the process (once he had got the money) he ignored pain reports, brushed off complications, and seemed almost irritated whenever I asked questions. His clinic felt more like an experimentation lab than a medical facility. I later learned that many patients had walked away with lifelong problems, many never walked normally again and at least 1 of them died.

My own outcome? Chronic pain, nerve issues, and constant discomfort two years later. I was naïve, trusted his confidence, and paid the price. Every step I take reminds me of this horrible decision.

If anyone is considering cosmetic bone lengthening, do your research carefully. Confidence is not competence, and some surgeons are more interested in pushing limits than protecting patients. In the wrong hands, this surgery can ruin your life.

I wish someone had warned me, so consider this your warning.
