Highly unlikely he does atl if he really does just 3 cm.

Yeah you will not be likely to need atl at that amount, just be consistent with streching.

Both the HEF fixator and the 3-ring Ilizarov use a pin and wire combo and the healing time would be the same using either of them. Dr Parihar would use hexapod struts at the end of lengthening if necessary, however, essentially turning the fixator into a Taylor Spatial Frame and ensuring the most precise alignment possible.

So it still boils down to paying more to be in a nicer hospital for a week.

But parihar will want you to stay in India for lengthening. It might not be a problem for him since he's Indian but as a foreigner you probably had experienced people trying to con you there. Not to mention unsanitary streets and food that can give you food poison.

Been to India twice, it's not much of a concern since you'd be staying at a hotel during lengthening anyway. I never got food poisoning either, and boy was the food good (if you like spicy anyway).

There's no denying that Lecco is a nicer place overall, but you're only going to be in these locations for a few months. In the end I'd place more emphasis on which doctor you want and how much you're willing to pay.

I did get a stomach bug for a few days from eating some ice cream from an outdoor freezer that wasn't fully frozen, which was stupid of me. But nothing I had delivered to me or prepped by the hotel caused me any problems. The butter naan was particularly amazing. You probably get some people who try to charge you a little extra, but it's still very small change compared to what you'd be paying elsewhere. Maybe I got lucky with the people I ran into, but everyone was particularly helpful and honest. A cab driver even returned my Macbook Pro to me in the first hotel I stayed in after I had mistakenly left it in the trunk.

That's a great story since the odds of them finding you again is so low.

I left my passport in the hotel room safe once, realized this hours into an eight hour car ride (cyclone destroyed destination airport). Got it back no problem, but I must admit Novotel was an awesome hotel, so I wouldn't expect anything less. Five-star for $99/night was a great splurge; wouldn't pick them for long-stay, but it'd be nice for the first few days.
