Below you can read some information about the limb lengthening surgery and
FAQ:

Q: How many total cm of lengthening including the tibias and femurs can an
individual be lengthened before he loses proper body proportion?

Eight and seven cms. My average amount of lengthening for cosmetic lengthening
patients is 8-10 cms.

Q: Some doctors that I have written to have said that in their experience
lengthening over nail was more painful for the patient. What do you think
about this?

No, They don't know what LON is. And probably they have no experience with
this technique. Much easier and more comfortable.

Q: In your experience, compared to tibial lengthening with the ilizarov frames,
how much more difficult of a procedure will be femoral lengthening with LON
for the patient?

Femoral lengthening with LON technique is much easier than in tibiaes (legs).

Q. I was wondering what type of nail do you use and what type of external
device you use?

Synthes intramedullary nails Orthofix LRS type ex.fix. or EBI
monorail system

Q. How long after the surgery could I start walking with crutches or a
walker?

One day after the surgery you start to walk full weight bearing with crutches

Q. How long would the total procedure take in the number of months until I
can walk normally again and resume normal life?

Six or seven months starting from the day zero (op. day)

Q. Does the cost include stay and accommodation and food for the entire
procedure?

No they are extra to pay for you and is about 4000 US$ for four months.

Agreed, and you still need to add on accommodation, food, caretaker(?), and etc
But then again 35k is the same price as Dr Birkholtz...? Though Dr B's price already includes accommodation im presuming?

Yup but you can deduct the accommodation cost and pay the guest house ditectly. Maybe cheaper as well.
Dr.B's price includes physio, occupational therapist, xrays ,psychologist, shuttle service etc....

It bothers me a bit that his average lengthening is 8-10 cm, especially when most good doctors advise a safe limit between 5 and 6 cm.

That isn't necessarily true; Dr. Guichet, Dr. Betz, the Russian Ilizarov Centre, and even the overly-cautious Dr. Paley all go past 5-6 cm.

Dr.Inan's LON cost is $21,000. Paying 35k for LON is way too expensive in my opinion.

This information is very old. He only does LON now, as far as I know. I visited him as a patient before I went to Dr.Inan and he only did LON. This was last year.
