Hello brothers and sisters,

I’ve just had my consultation. I’m currently 169.5cm and from what i’ve heard in my consultation, although I wanted the max of 8cm increase on femurs, I’m now thinking I’ll settle for 5.8 - 6.3cm at most which will take me to 175.3 - 176cm which i’m very okay with. Just wanted to ask king time lurkers/readers/diary studiers and people who’ve had this surgery if there really is any advantage in terms of quick recovery and physicality for people who do 6cm vs 8cm on femurs. Please share your wisdom with me or even anyone’s diary or post that specifically addresses this. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. That’s actually the surgeon i’m going with. Are you currently working with him?

Most likely. I love South Africa and I talked with him, he is level headed and fun and we had a good vibe. I also have to consider that I need good vibes for my first three months of recovery because I'm sure those are the tough times where I would be regretting that I did this. His prices also feel achievable. I do want to put my mind on a set limit for increase and not be tempted to go over no matter how good things go in the moment and I think I wanna set that for 6.3cm but I'm reading now that going above 5cm can be problematic. Do you have any thoughts?

PM me and i’ll tell you what he charged me. It was a pretty good price and it encompasses accommodating and feeding and physio etc for three months. I don’t know if he does quad but he’s a very careful doctor and i don’t see him doing it in such a time.

The reason I want to set a limit is because i’m physically active and typically my personality is to overcome adversity so i can see myself wanting to push which is why I want to make an informed decision now. As it is, my mind is feeling like 6cm is good which will take me from 169.5 (nearly 5’7) to 175.5 (5.9’2) which i’d be so satisfied with. It’s more important for me to be up and walking normally in 6 months than it is to be taller than that. Also my logic is to go from one height group to the next not necessarily the number itself so i’ll be going from short to average.

Thank you for your response. You are right. Although I think personally, I like to keep things in the conservative side and when I did the math - 6cm still puts me a little over 5'9 and 8cm also still leaves me in the 5'9s so whichever I picked, after surgery and healing I'd still be 5'9. I may have felt a little different if the additional 2cm would put me at 5'10 but since it doesn't, I think I'll stay at 6-6.5cm and tell the doctor to stop there no matter how much I beg for more and I know myself, if I surpass expectations, I will beg for more.

Honestly may have even considered it if I was leaving one inch on the table but I'd be leaving 0.2 inch on that won't catapult me to a different height class- I'm good and I'll stay in the 5'9 range with or without. Also not even doing this for women. I could care less. Just want to be okay with myself.

Thanks. What about you? What's your current height and what are you planning on doing if you don't mind sharing.

Nice.

I see people write about wingspan a lot. I wonder what the role of wingspan is? mine is 178 but my height is 169.5, yet, I never feel like my arms are too long. But I don't know.

I am also not an athlete anymore and I honestly can't remember when last I ran. Although I do lift currently 245lbs on squats so sad I won't be able to do that for a while. This might sound crazy but my biggest asset is my ass and I get complimented alot on how muscular is is, I'm so sad it's going to go.

Oh I plan to start working upper body as soon as I can. I saw a guy's diary. His name is Movie and he didn't seem to lose ass so much so fingers crossed. Thanks for the info. When and what country/city are you doing your procedure?

Yes. 6.5cm puts me at about 13.5 percent of my femur.
