indeed - from my side I did my research and actually did leg-lengthening in volgograd with Dr Barinov, illizarov, tibia, in 2015 - so is hardly anecdotal when you are going through the process with others, under qualified and skilled medical supervision

just look at some of the recent posts - 0.0045 loss per cm, 6 inch growth from a coma, the bones curve like a circle

what would a genuine new person think of the quality of posts and mental health of these donkeys, calling people names like retard for God's sake - & my English, when I am a native speaker 🤷🥵

it's a safe procedure - but you have to embrace it & what it takes etc etc 👍

5cm.on tibia is a 5cm increase - that's it - it's bone - tougher than cement 🤦‍♂️🤷🤣👍🥊

Quote from: redMok on June 29, 2025, 07:11:56 PMThere are way too many people here that talk without doing proper research or looking at actual studies, just thinking out of their head fiction.

Even with all anecdotes in this forum, most people that lengthen 8 cm in the femur will indeed get 8 cm, not some made up number like .5 cm ( some people say .1 cm ~ max .2 cm loss but that's such an abysmal number that there are other factors that are probably impacting it ).

https://boneandjoint.org.uk/Article/10.1302/1358-992X.2024.5.009?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Just look at this study of 42 patients that did femur, the average person actually had .2 cm more than their actual lengthening which is the reverse of some peoples head fiction argument, but again anything .1 ~ .2 cm is not noteworthy at all.

Trying to sound Smart won't make you, if you can read, you Will see that the average gain was 7.5cm overall.  Which is consistent with the discussion. You literally end up proving the main point.

You gain 7.6-7.9cm height after a 8cm femur lengthening, it depends upon the "Q Angle" of your hips (Google it), basically the wider your hips are the more mm you lose, I am a male with have narrow hips and only lost ~ 2mm after my 8cm Precice femur lengthening.
Q Angle does not apply to Tibias, a 6 cm lengthening on Tibias will result in a 6 cm height gain , but be aware of pin loss (if using Illizarov frames) and XRay measurements of bone gap also have an error factor, this varies with set up, software and radiographic marking subjectivity.
To counter XRay reading error I like to skin tape a thin (eg paper clip stretched out) a wire of known length (e.g 50mm) in line with the lateral Tibia gap, then measure the AP view of the gap/ wire and scale this gap value to the wire known value to give the actual length of the AP view bone gap.

wtf - have you read anything - another 0.1 cm loss claim - from Google & a Q angle!!??  - depending on your hips??🤣🙈

tibia pin loss - are you thicker than coma-boy?  - there is no such thing as pin loss from ilizarov

"skin tape a paper clip and scale this gap value to the wire value" - are you for real??

f**k me - I thought this could not get worse - are you thicker than coma boy!!?? 🙈🤢🥵😅🤣

" Average height gain was 7.5 cm (SD 1.3 cm, range 5.1–9.5). Average femoral lengthening was 7.3 cm "

Damn are we just pretending to be ignorant here or can you actually not read lmao?

the point was sometimes the gain Is not exactly 8cm, you proved nothing instead you confirmed ir.

Also if the average leghtening was 7.3 but the actual gains were 7.5 proves that most of the times the leghtening Is not the exact cms you gain. Even if Is a bit More or less which was the main point of the discussion.
