I thought I was 5’4 but my measurements are actually 5’3. I want leg lengthening in tibias and femurs for 3 to 4 inches total. Problem is I’ve recently been diagnosed with Asperger’s and have been suffering depression and trauma since childhood which explains my stunted growth. I know the operation requires the patient be psychologically fit, so how screwed an I? Cheers

Psychologically fit, in my opinion, is something more akin to bein motivated. So i think you should really imagine yourself with you new height, and see how better that makes you feel. Really feel it, in your body.

The aspergers i don't think would be a problem in this process, but i confess i don't know that much about it.
Aside from that, i can suggest meditation, and, if you feel like it, it was actually psychedelics that got me out of depression a few years ago. Mushrooms are good to help you find the love for yourself again.

Asperger's exists on a spectrum and some people are still very high functioning. I would consult with a doctor and see what they think.

As I said, stunted growth due to trauma and depression (not eating, not exercising etc.). In my case the depression is severe, but I’m guessing my desire for limb lengthening won’t go away regardless due to how short I am, as it did play a role in how my life has been.

My backup plan is to just move to a country like Malaysia with shorter people so I feel more normal (I’m Asian). How seriously would depression put off a surgeon? Thanks

Don't see Asperger's as a negative trait! It's quite the opposite. Your're the clear winner because the world is spinnng faster and faster. Calmness and focus are required for the next decades.

Elon Musk is an aspie. Richest man on earth and he had a cosmetic surgery: hair transplantation. Maybe he also did LL surgery ? Who knows?!

You probably have depressions because the outer world hinders you to follow your own dreams. You are not able to change yourself but you can change the world and your depressions will disappear quickly.

As the above friend said, even Musk has asperger and he is more than successful everywhere.
So stick to your target and go for LL if you have the money.
Adding 5 inches (3 on femurs and 2 on tibias or something like that) will drastically change your life.

That's no backup plan. That's just admitting defeat and running away.

As much as I’d like to agree, it’s ultimately the surgeon’s decision as to whether I receive CLL. I’m worried that my history of mental illness would be a problem. Will they overlook this given the massive benefits to someone of my stature? (25M)

Dude, you shouldn't mention ur problems in front of the LL doctor. Just pretend to be normal. Don't behave like a stupid during the appointment.

One more thing: Go to a reputable doctor like Paley etc. I think Asia has a lot of LL butchers who will do anything for money!
