I read your novel and it was the most extreme approach at privacy I had ever read: which was to change your name after surgery. Did you actually do that? Obviously you don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable.
What are some important steps you think one should take to protect his privacy apart from the obvious stuff like not telling people you are getting this done?
Do you think that lengthening both segments (i.e. both tibia's and femurs) with smaller increments, instead of just one segment with a large increment is wiser?
As an example: if you wanted to lengthen 7.5 cm would it be better to lengthen tibia's by 3.5 cm and femurs by 4 cm rather than going for the full 7.5 cm on one of them?

It's entirely up to you what you do. It wouldn't make a difference if I did it or not.

Get it done while you're still young enough that people will believe that you grew. I got my 5'7 driver's license when i was 18. When it expired I went back to the DMV to get a new one and there was no issue at all with the different height.
Get scar revision and then tattoos over the scars so nobody will find out you had surgery.

Probably, but you're adding multiple additional major surgeries to spread out the length, so it's definitely not a black and white issue.
Did you find your dating, romantic and career prospects changed significantly after the surgery?
If you could gain 6 inches and be reborn as the same man, only taller and more confident, would you do it if it meant leaving behind your old friends and an ex?

Definitely, women look at me as a potential partner instead of, to quote The Great Oudoors, a rack of yard tools at Sears.
Not so much in terms of career prospects though. Height only makes a difference in some professions.

Have you participated in any kinds of sports or activities for hours since the surgery in 2007? Legs feeling ok to do any prolonged activities that required hours to complete?
