2-3 members have reported nerve damage and drop foot. One member explains how hard it is to communicate with the doctors (Bagirov). And they do external femurs.

Would you still call Russia a good option?

As I'm doing it now I'll weigh in and say that it is by and far the cheapest. However, sometimes you get what you pay for. If you yourself are very prepared and have a good support group (like this forum), plan for the worst and have someone to help you, it is still a viable decision. If you aren't the most prepared person (hopefully you can admit this or not) and you have some additional money around, I think there may be better options.

Good and bads, it's cold in Russia so that may bother you. Food isn't fantastic. Women are very attractive and it's an interesting language to learn, very similar to English in a way.

It's ridiculous to ask medical advice from people on the forum while lengthening. Things like "how many turns do I do" if your doctor has not inform you then it is very apalling. THe forum is for emotional support and maybe some rehabilitation stuff (like when do I start squatting) but not for distraction osteogensis stuff.

I dont see the difference between India and Russia. At least there is one doctor in India who seems to pay attention to patients. And Indian doctors invariably speak in English.

read more and get more information about the operation and as long as you are doing pure external and lengthen slowly + taking care with the infection, you should be fine even in Russia. The Russian dr are not that bad, i can say that they are clever, they do the bone cut very good, they put the frame very stable, and drs like kulesh are very serious towards infections and frame cleaning. + they also do the correction very well. the only problem is they push the patients to lengthen very fast which will put you in a deep   for long time .
