Quote from: jexus on January 10, 2018, 07:10:05 PMThanks man,
I think the same 1 cm may be too much but 0,5-0,7 can be done with a surgery without the fixator I guess. Maybe it’s better to do it right now because the bone is not fully consolidated.
I am not sure if it better to do it right now because it may lead to non union. But doctors now better. For sure up to 0.5cm a bone can lengthen immediately with a cut (and an internal or external fixator to keep it stable) so go for it.

I couldn’t understand so you think if I do 0,5 immediately I have to get fixators again or can I do it without them as there is still the intramedullar nail of the LON inside ?

The doctor should unlock the nail, rebreak the bone and lengthen it for 0.5cm and lock the nail again.
No external fixator.

Hey man, I couldn’t find anything on the internet about lenghtening 0,5 cm without fixator. Are you sure it is possible ? If it is possible I will want first 0,5 on the left then when it is consolidated 0,5 on the left and 0,5 on the right with two surgeries.
Quote from: Jayjay59cruz on December 27, 2017, 04:58:32 AMGlad to hear that brother. I’m hoping to get my surgery by the age of 25 so I got a couple of years to save money. May I ask what your wingspan is ? And how do you feel your proportions look like now are you satisfied? Do you look well proportion it?
Hey man,
My wingspan is 166 cm it is really short compared to my height but I look really proportionate. With another 5 or 6 cm my height will be 180-81 and my wingspan will be almost 15 cm shorter that's why I don't want another LL on femurs.

It is not so easy and no responsible doctor would break your bones just to lengthen 0.5cm for cosmetic purposes.
It cam be done only to make your discrepancy less and still it has some risks of malunion but still it is rare to have a malunion with a so little gap.
It can be done as many LL doctors, when they break the bone for the first time, leave a gap up to that to avoid premature consolidation and the patient heals wirhout problems.
So I am sure it can be done to lessen your discrepancy but only for that.
