I have mostly been lurking around here on and off. Now I'm seriously considering lenghtning with the LON-method next summer, or possibly Stryde if/when it comes back and I have managed to save up the extra funds.
I had always thought my Tibias were proportionally very short compared to my femurs. But judging from the attached images that may just be an illusion because my calves and legs overall are very thick and stumpy.

Pics are NSFW I guess (in my boxers xD)
I'm 168-170cm
169cm wingspan
What do you guys think? Femurs or tibias? Personally I think a ~5.5cm on tibias would look the most aesthetically pleasing and well proportioned biomechanically. I don't really plan to lenghten over 6cm due to my short arms... sorry no xrays to measure exact lenght of femur and tibias yet...
I seewhat you mean, i just measured my tibia and femurs following a quick tutorial on youtube. Now keep in mind these measurements are very approximate, I find measuring the femur the most difficult to locate greater trochanter.
Tibia: ~32,5cm
Femur: 42,5 cm
T/F Ratio: 0,765
32,5 + 5,25cm tibia lenghtning will give me a T/F ratio of: ~0,89
42,5 + 5,5cm femur lenghtning will give me a T/F ratio of: ~0,677

Im around 169cm

The problem bio-mechanically though is that when you lengthen approximately 5 cm or more on tibias they start cutting into your ACL and stuff like that to release tension. There is also the fibular bone next to the tibia that is also being lengthened but isn't controlled as easy. In general tibias are a mess to lengthen.
Your ratios seem perfectly natural and as you say, it is probably an optical illusion due to your lower legs being thick/muscular. I would say that if you are serious about gaining height and doing this surgery then do 5-6 cm femur internal, recover and move on with life. So many horror story's with tibia's it isn't worth it imo.
It seems like most people lenghten tibias above 5cm, just does seem unworthy to go through something so invasive for below 5cm I guess...
Also based on my recent measurements my proportions would be more ideal compared to similar femur lenghtning. And the internal femur procedure is more than 2x the price of LON tibias...
Arghh it's a difficult decision. I might need professional consultation to make up my mind 😅
