I will decide when I Reach 5-6 cm.
If I am doing well I will go for 8 cm.
Otherwise I will revise downwards to 6-7 cm.
Yes you can decide when you reach 6cm, but most people have problem around this goal. When they pass more than 5 cm, lengthening is more difficult.
MANAGED TO WALK WITHOUT WALKERS (distraction now 0.75mm)
RGKey made me wanna try it:
Technically he could walk without crutches right after few days post op. But the pain plus the muscle weekneess and fear to fall will not allow it. The ilizarov frames support around 3 or 4 times your body weight. Is pretty much as if you were walking with healthy normal bones. People do your researches!))
yes you can walk without walkers!:) there is very little pain. you just need to balance yourself!!! but the nurse told me not allowed. I am now checking with dr fakhri if walking without walkers is bad for you.
Can I walk outside of hospital: yes
Healing is better if 0.6mm a day. can lengthen at any rate, but soft tissue problems.
X-ray will be done before leaving Moscow/CT scan
i have weird creaking sounds in my bones when i move. is this normal? can something be loose inside? this is normal.
and above my right knee, sometimes there is muscle twitching? normal.
based on my x-rays, my growth plates are closed? because i grew about 1-2 cm in the last few years. => he asked my age, and said closed.
Abdominal crunches can be done in bed.
the doctors say to eat much more than normal. Do I really have to eat 6000 calories a day? Can I eat less? Worried about getting fat! > I'm not fat and calories will go to healing.
Exercise of back muscle more important, as lengthening will cause posture changes, so we need build up back muscle.
walk 10 minutes many times a day when lengthening.
no need equal timing before 0.25 mm lengthenings.
no elevation of leg needed.
no cold compress needed.
pin site pain yesterday normal
bruises normal
must endure
what do you mean back muscle needs to be built up??? don't you think your over thinking this?
doctor said, not my words
Wide arm pull ups Chin ups are good the problem is your thing adds weight plus you have to realize that chin ups when you come off the bar if your short also hurts your ankles since most bars aren't really short people friendly like 8 feet off the ground ftl.

no no he just says do something like the cobra (yoga pose), from what I saw him demonstrate
he says with lengthening there will be a slouch (ie, back muscles weaken, and posture is hunched)
Lengthened 1 mm in total (from yesterday's 0.25 mm)
Later I have to lengthen another 0.25 mm.
I blame this pain on myself.
Slept late and woke up at 12 plus. So I have to lengthen every 3 hourly, which was fine, until just now, where one can feel some pain. Now its 10.30 PM.
I will probably have to lengthen again at about 12 midnight. (so that would be 1 mm today!)
Is it normal to feel more strain as you lengthen more into the day?

Its quite bad! My leg feels like its breaking into two.
